I will be happy to see the contribution of the old files by yourself and technician here. Especially as I wasn't around during this period of latex ladies.

Yesterday I searched my harddisk and found 50MB of older Yahoo Groups pages in original layout and colours (which at that time still could be saved as HTML). Their later UI became completely based on scripts and impossible to save as is (only copy and paste as TXT).

With modern tabled crap it would be impossible to preserve data for even 10 years because worn SSD/flash memory dies after resting unpowered for only 2 years in a drawer. Online gadgets like tablets and smartphones are self-destroying throwaway things and no proper computers. That even laptops now got infested with the SSD plague and unreplaceable lithium cells dooms mankind to a dark age of digital nowhere. All what remains is a pointer to an array of voids once the cloud has shutdown by lack of paying fees by the deceased account owner or by the now following nuclear war.

Informatics is like Puppetry: - A very serious science!

Since we are dealing here with the little-known "Beginnings of Puppetry",
let me also write a little about the beginnings of Computer Science.
I will give an example from the area of
"Resource size's: Contents with a graphic database".

That 50 MB of material is a very serious amount!

* 1MB = 1024 Kb, 50 MB x 1024 Kb = 51200 Kb.
* Let a small "320x240 pix" image occupy an average of "30 to, say, 130 Kb",
or just let's say, for example, that one image is nearly arround 50 Kb..
* round 50MB=51200Kb / 50Kb per file ("* .JPG file, DPI=? :wink: ) = is 1024 picture files...

Nowadays, when one image takes up 10 MB - it would be only 5 images.. 0X

Regarding the content saved as an HTML page,
the old WinOS operating systems would store
this type of data in a selected place, but in two files.

The first file would represent the 📄page
that would be opened by the browser, and the second file would be a 📁folder
with the rest of the content that will be displayed in that open page.
There would be graphic add-ons, small banners, lottypes, advertisements, gifs,
images that are inserted within the content of the page, etc..

*

In those old days, I knew how to manually extract images
from 📁folders with data via copy/paste..
Of course, there is also a trick to do it much faster:

* All HTML pages are copied into one 📁folder.
* That created folder can be found through
⬜"the integrated OS 🔎search_engine" that is part of that OS.
* Entering the search parameter:
⬜"*.JPG", then "*.JPE", then "*. PNG", "*.BMP", then "*.GIF",
⬜and the search_engine program will automatically extract
⬜all those file formats with graphic content separately in a new list.
* The list then can be marked with "copy" or "cut",
⬜and "paste" at new created 📁Folder for pictures..

OFC, there was allways in real time an option to printscreen
at open page in browser with ⌨️keyboard: CTRL+C+PrtScr 8)

It is difficult to preserve great knowledge
for hundreds of years, for future generations...
Only stone, ceramics, porcelain are of any use...

Ziggurat in Ur (Iraq), Nabucodonosor's Palace, Istar's Gate,
Pyramids in the Valley of the Kings, Luxor, Karnak,
or Pagodas in Kyoto...

Magnetic tapes, ferromagnetic material on hard boards,
magnetization, static electricity, temperature and humidity,
voltage, vibrations or earthquakes,
properties of materials and their decomposition...

The right move is to make pictures on high-quality photo paper
in a higher resolution and physical size, and the most important thing
is to make photos on ceramic plates......
:D

The 50MB of old HTML mostly do include photos (although often thumbnail version).

The modern >1GB I extracted from the last days of Yahoo Groups also include photos (not the zillion of spam/porn picts that I did not consider part of the actual groups), but the text parts were assembled into some long plain HTML pages and some are just TXT.

"Vital Hygiene made the first rubber dolls in various poses and shapes from latex in the 1950s."
Can someone confirm whether this statement is actually true. Were rubber dolls in various poses for play actually created as early as the 1950's.

📚 Texts and books are great power!

💡 Many great writers did not write,
but only wrote down what other people thought or said!

Having these texts, the content of various questions,
attitudes or thoughts and ideas is a great asset.
You wrote a book without even realizing it!

You should read all these texts carefully
and separate the good and right from the bad and useless.
Take into account that these texts have not passed
our TDF censorship and that it is dangerous to publish
them without a detailed reading.

But if you reorganize them and put them in some order,
chapters, chronology and importance, you will create a capital work.

🌟 Our archive here on the TDF forum is
certainly the largest and strongest in the world.
You can further enrich it with your selected
publications on our related topics,
which were also conducted in other
virtual places around the world.

⚱️ Because what is lost, you own and it is found.
If you don't share it with all of us, all of humanity is at a loss.

Because none of us is individually to blame
for the downfall of Yahoo Group,
but there are those like you who saved what could be saved....

I am not Wiki Leaks! I have no time to censor a zillion things those for decades had been out in the public anyway (even searchable with Google). In that era (not far away from usenet) accounts were rather based on topics than persons, and many even ran anonymous without ever having a moderator (resulting in getting spammed, and if people complained about spam, Yahoo tended to delete the entire group instead of removing spam or prosecuting the spammer). I did not mass-download any personal profiles anyway (which I consider stalking), so most pages only show some old nicknames.

Absolutely correct!

What you can check, in your free time,
you can compare those old nicknames,
with other nicknames on other
remaining "smaller puppet forums"
which deal with this topic of ours..
OFC, pay attention at only good posts & topics! :!:

Our forum is certainly the largest and strongest in the world,
and there are some of our old members who wrote
on these other smaller forums as well...
This is precisely the proof that the knowledge
from our TDF forum spread to other forums

- and that a lot of positive information and great various knowledge
from other forums it was created right here at our place,
and then it spread beyond the our forum's borders!

You can understand it as a kind of free missionary work of TDF members
in spreading the right information for the general good..
