avatars question

i want to add a picture of marissa as my avatar. my profile entry doesnt work because the pic i want to use... is not tiny... even after i shrink it down to 1" x 1"... so it doesnt accept.

i went to FAQs and looked through the item about avatars.... the link it suggests to set avatars.... doesnt work....

i need a bit of advice here... how do i shrink my marissa pic down to avatar size in pixels and in file size.

You can save it on your computer and upload it through the avatar control panel.

one last question... ive tried to save it as a copy... then paste it on mty mac ... but it wont let me save it as a jpg.... then i tried to save it from the file menu "save as" and it required a webarchive tag....

can i save it as a webarchive?

I'm afraid my knowledge about mac could be better. You can upload from an URL, I believe...

BB, a great program to use is called IrfanView. It's a picture viewer/enhancer.

1. Its a free download.

2. It has a great option in the 'Image' menu called 'Resize'. It allows one to blowup or shrink an image as you see fit and save it in a vast number of popular picture file types. It's VERY EASY.

... im trying to find a way to save this pic that radiv did... and then choose that file as my avatar.... but.. its not working... the avatar panel is not accepting it.

it shouldnt be this difficult.
