They make cosmetology heads that are used for makeup practice.

Here is a place in America that sells teenage mannequins at around 5' 2" in height. Page starts from babies to older.

Just for a example. These same mannequins might be available in your location too? Probably all made in China.

We are not allowed on TDF to post any pics of a human that appears to be under 18 yrs old. Even dolls or mannequins. Just a FYI or reminder.
You are very handy Kitty, I don't think I could manage to build a doll myself like that. Maybe I can ask someone to help me.
Good then I'm allowed to post pictures of myself. :)

They generally cost around $100.00 - 200.00 US. You might find a used one for $50.00 +/-.
I just got this one off Craigslist for $50.00. She is made in Italy, and vary solidly constructed. With a few mods, she can look quite realistic.

I have a question for you experienced mannequin owners. Where do you buy nice mannequins? (Like the most realistic and good quality ones?) Are they expensive?

Thanks

Honestly, a great place to start is Amazon. I got two of my mannequins there. Another great place to find mannequins of the sexy variety is here:

I bought my Jessica from here, and she was delivered quickly. She's this one:

Most of them range between $150 and $300, but you can get some with lots of extra little details for between $400 and $800. Personally, I'm quite happy with mine.

I am not sure what she is, but I will take some more detailed pictures. The only ID I can find on her is a Logo that I can't identify, and "made in Italy" is stamped on her arms.

Hi thanks Pringle (I don't want to call you dead?)

They are actually more realistic, not as skinny as some. Some are 170 cm. shorter but still a bit tall compared to me but I could probably use my clothes I willlook closer at their measurements.

Hi Angelica,

Buystoreshelving is definitely a good place to find mannequins in the U.S.
Unfortunately I don't think they will ship a mannequin to Europe though.

Another TDF member named Jussiii who also lives in Finland found a company that will ship by sea for a reasonable cost.
Here's his thread: http://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 69#p659869
He purchased a mannequin here http://www.roxydisplayinc.com/ and had it shipped with this company: http://www.finn-us.com/

Unfortunately Jussiii hasn't posted since September of last year, so I never heard how it went.

Here's a nice 160cm mannequin with a young adult figure on Amazon.de sold by ZNL...

ImageImage

She'd be cheap and you could repaint the face with a matte finish for doing makeup.

Hi Angelica94,

The name actually came from my original Steam ID. While I was registering my DVD copy of Left 4 Dead on Steam back in 2009, I was trying to figure out what to use as my Steam user ID. Then I saw the open can of pringles on my desk, and suddenly, I was 'deadpringle'.

By all means, call me as you wish, but deadpringle has been my online moniker for some time now. My lovely May calls me her big "deadybear".

Hi Mannequin

I just ordered that mannequin, :) it's 130 Euro with freight, and shouldn't be any taxes because in EU?. A lot cheaper than real doll ............ She looks a bit childish but is not so different from me in measurements. We are the same height, The mannequin is 79-62-83 , cup size unspecified but I guess B. I'm 84C - 62 - 85. So I think it can work just fill out my bras a bit. I ordered in German language so I hope i didn't do something wrong 8O I hope I can ask you for advice about painting the face later when I get her. 8) Thanks for the advice

Hi Angelica and congratulations on your MQ order!
I think you'll like that one - the Ziel mannequins are pretty good quality for the price.
Here's her page on the Ziel website: http://www.ziel-mannequin.com/mannequin ... _676.html#

You are welcome to PM me anytime with questions or just post them right here in your thread. I'll try my best to help you any way I can.
Having the conversation here in the thread might help others as well.

One thing you could try first before using paint would be to apply a liquid makeup foundation evenly with a makeup sponge.

The secret to getting a good result is to dampen the sponge first before applying the makeup and use a stippling motion to apply - don't drag the sponge.
This will make it look like it's been spray applied.
This is exactly the same technique that I use to paint my mannequins! :)

Sorry to hear the problem Angelica.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

I've never purchased anything myself from Amazon.de since I'm in the U.S. so I have no experience with this.
However I've made many purchases on Amazon in U.S. and have had no problems.
Best to ask someone from your area how best to proceed.

Personally I always try to use PayPal for online purchases if possible.

Hi Mannequin

Now I tried again, I was in contact with the company supplying the doll. Let's see if it works, I think they accept my card now. It's not my Area thats the problem I'm from Finland and don't know German language. But at the company they knew English, they had the same mannequin in the British Amazon but they could't deliver to Finland (?!). I think it's safe for the visa card because it's the EU.
