UK Newspaper Reports On Chinese Sex Dolls Replacing Women
Link to the article

The text reads as follows;
Realistic (but creepy) sex dolls are replacing women in China
While it may look incredibly life-like (even if the proportions are more suited to a 14-year-old boy’s fantasies rather than a real female) this ‘woman’ is in fact a doll.
However it seems having things such as a personality or a pulse doesn’t matter to many Chinese men, who are increasingly using ‘sex dolls’ to fulfil their sexual desires in place of real women.
Specialist shops in Beijing are selling the dolls for $2,500 (£1,700) each, and the ones pictured are called ‘156’, named after their height in centimetres.
They are made from thermoplastic elastomer which is softer than silicon, and have adjustable hands, heads, and… er… genitals (we’ll leave the explanation of that one to your parents).
The sudden rise in demand for these silent women is thought to be due to the culture of many Chinese men travelling to the city to work during the week, then returning to their suburban wives and families during the weekend.
One punter, who only gave his name as Liu, told the South China Morning Post: ‘If a married man refuses to see prostitutes and uses a doll instead, isn’t it admirable?’
Liu has a top-of-the-range doll in his weekday Beijing studio apartment, and his thoughts on using it are creepy to say the least.
‘The only way a doll is better than a woman is that it won’t resist, so people can do whatever they want with it,’ he added.
Despite all this many users feel having sex with one of these is ‘morally correct’, rather than interacting with prostitutes or mistresses.
Feel free to discuss guys I know you will

Re: UK Newspaper Reports On Chinese Sex Dolls Replacing Wome
Nice article who tells the actual living situation not only of working people in China.
Prostitution or dolls? both are hard discussed themes and a grey-zone in our modern conservative society. Visiting a brothel or strip club is of course not well accepted by a wife as well you invest monthly a nice part of your wage for these exclusive services. For many people these beautiful dolls are affordable, even when for a Chinese workers salary this is a high amount, but once ordered and paid they're a more undemanding companion type (....generally seen not very true ).
Very curious about the fact if at your weekly visited malls you could find a section who you could buy TPE dolls, presented properly dressed. As mentioned, the fact IF...
There're two thinks I dislike in this article:
- the word creepy is an unneeded idiotic addition as Barbie dolls aren't creepy too and sold at nearly all malls (and they have tits too).
- For most of the Chinese people a 156 cm doll is tall and there exist enough petite women around who look very sexy and attractive.
and for clarity:
- The possibility that the article writer himself is married and visits secretly the red districts is given.

Thanks Guy. Yeah the word creepy was absolutely not required. this immediately gives the UK reading public the idea that it is normal to regard dolls as creepy.siliconefun wrote:There're two thinks I dislike in this article:

The other part I found a bit weird was the writer's reference to 'a 14 year old boy' and later 'I'll leave the explanation to your parents.
This is an adult newspaper not a comic.

This section is just totally unneeded. Basically he is saying the man is a sexual deviant by insinuating the "rape" aspect. He then goes on to equate doll use as equal to getting a hooker. Finally he basically says that it is 'morally wrong' to have sex with a doll.Liu has a top-of-the-range doll in his weekday Beijing studio apartment, and his thoughts on using it are creepy to say the least.

This whole article is just trash. I am curious about the newspaper, what is its reputation, is it viewed as a liberal or conservative leaning paper? Just curious to find out what type of reader this paper is trying to appeal to.

Re: UK Newspaper Reports On Chinese Sex Dolls Replacing Wome
A friend of mine in who bumped into Aira in the Post Office ("Aira's hard day at work - a Day in the Life of a Doll") suggests setting her up at the side of the road changing a wheel on her car and seeing how many knights in shining armour come and offer to help her.
If anyone would like to indulge in any such gags in south east England, I'm willing, or in Antibes in the south of France.
Best wishes

I have a Hustler April 2002 issue that features an article on silicone dolls. The article doesn't portray doll use as a good thing, although some admiration for the beauty and craftsmanship of the dolls is implied. I knew I wanted one and disagreed with the negative views. I think such exposure will simply help popularize this hobby. It's very possible that the author of this article likes them and uses denigration to conceal his desire.

The article shown here in The Daily Mail does show a positive view of dolls. Largely due to Stacy

A word from Antoine Dodson (of "Bedroom Intruder" song fame) to the writer of the doll article as well as the man suing the actress: At least they live up to their motto: "News... but not as you know it." Yep. Pretty much.Katie Baillie for Metro.co.uk wrote:Actress Zhao Wei is being sued for causing ‘spiritual damage’ to a man with a mere gaze. Her ‘big eyes’ are said to have caused distress to the poor viewer, who couldn’t handle the ferocity of her look.

Thanks Rainlover, you gave me my morning laugh which is just as important as my morning coffee and better for me too.RainLover wrote:The reason why Chinese men prefer dolls is obvious. It's because Chinese actresses are causing "spiritual damage" by staring too intensely at men through their TV sets. Don't believe me? From the same newspaper:

Re: UK Newspaper Reports On Chinese Sex Dolls Replacing Wome
So technology is invented to give some happiness to these unfortunate men who will never have a partner. The article makes it seem like "these sex addicts choose creepy dolls over real women, just because sex is easier" Rubbish. But media twisting the truth the standard these days sadly. We will probably see similar articles of the West soon.
