currently 500 are made and selling in China in September
made of polyurethane foam and what appears to be latex skin (I think there was another Japanese company made same type of doll years ago can't remember its name)
weighs 8kg and limbs are dettachable
selling price at 2499 RMB which is about $374 USD

would be excellent news if made available for western buyers
especially for those without much money to spend and longs for a decent looking doll
also a pretty good price for newbies looking at buying their first doll

You are thinking of eirie doll. I wish they would sell this doll to united states. They also have a clock running. And are offering her as a limited sales. I would really like one too

Obviously this is not meant to be sold in the western market, at least not yet as there doesn't seem to be any English version of their site. This would tend to make me believe that they are (1): not interested in the western market yet, or (2): not prepared to do business in the western market at this time! Maybe at some time in the future!

EX-doll is just the Chinese division of DS & ArteTokio so I don't think this is the case here
products are often first release locally before they're made available internationally like video games

Fantastic! Really amazing. This will be a real revolution if successful. I wonder if she can stand and pose? My Thera will want to inspect her in close detail . . .

A reality is that this is a very new and innovative departure from standard construction and for that reason DS will be wanting to let local customers put them through their paces first before any risk of disasters with their international fanclub.

This is certainly a toy lady I'm looking forward to interviewing. What's more, at 8kg I'm potentially going to be able to put her into oversize aircraft luggage.

Very very interesting! It might take a lot to beat that price in that kind of market. It looks like she moves as well as far more expensive dolls too! Candy8teen had better watch out! (I paid for a Taffy on July 6th and still haven't received her! I wish I'd seen this on the Artetokio site when I went on there a while back! As CC said, I'm not good at reading Japanese either!)
The hand looks like it has some sort of cloth on the underside but can't quite make it out.

that is our new product called DS-Lite (EX-Lite).
the doll is made by foam. it is very light, only 5~8 kg. 165cm.
inside is plastic skeleton which much stronger with new design mechanical structure.
and the body is 6 parts, legs, arms, body and head, it can make the storage much smaller.
because the foam material, it always feel warm. even in the winter season.
also, the foam doll's price is much cheaper than silicone doll.

this new product will be ready soon. we are working on the last produce processing.
I will update news on TDF when her ready.

This also reminds me of the seperates that O.I used to sell but much lighter. I love seperates dolls so i really really want one. I hope they post a video for her.

Just remember no sunlight or she will turn into a gremlin. Lol
