Greetings to everyone,

Just wanting to say hello

This is an amazing forum - the amount of resources and knowledge that can be had here is amazing!

I am *very* new to this whole doll idea; in fact, at the risk of exposing my naivety, I've only discovered that there exists real lifelike realistic dolls just recently in November of last year (gulp, yes that's green me..)

So...ever since 8 months ago my interest & thought process has been focused solely on owning a doll, and I drooled at 6-7 websites/vendors, all the while trying to decide which one is best suited for me, and more importantly, if this is something I truly want...

After plenty of yes and no, back & forth, the angel & devil on each shoulder having strong words to whisper into my subconsciousness, I finally made the (gulp!) plunge and ordered one, some 4 weeks ago...

Besides looking at those fine photos of stunning looking dolls on vendor sites, I've also browsed and read a couple of doll forums, but decided to join up with this one, after I've
read ALL 28 pages of this:

That's when I realized that the members here are incredibly helpful, resourceful and knowledgable.

So, I sincerely hope that my ownership experience far exceeds my deepest worries, and again, hello to you all

Your right, this is a really great forum, best people on the planet in here it seems.

I bet you made the right decision, sounds like you thought long and hard about it. I didn't know if I was going to take to having a doll, but its been wonderful and I don't think I can ever go back.

Thanks - I ordered the WM152cm - still waiting for completion, as they have made quite a few mistakes on it during production

My feelings exactly. Much more so than I ever expected. I have worked in IT and the interwebs (and BBS' before that) for over thirty years and never experienced this kind of shared knowledge.

Yes agreed. I'm also in - among other things - forums for cars, motorcycles, backpacking travel, soccer etc and I thought that this doll community is a tiny, specialty group of isolated introverts (talking about me too) but the large amount of members, and lurkers, with their sheer enthusiasm speaks volume for this supposedly fringe community.

We have truly entered the digital 21st century of social isolation. We are the offshoot of the movie "HER" - only with our silicone/TPE partners

I am also a newbie from South Africa.
Have already learnt from this forum.
I am importing a TPE 158cm doll via Amazon from the USA as that is the only way to get thru' customs.

I visited your lovely country a few years ago - Cape Town is a very livable city, with lovely breeze ! I've also done volunteer work in Mamelodi Township, outside Jo-berg. I have friends in Univ Pretoria
