I have found from these patents the Fleshlight TPE formula; at of a ratio of 1 to 1 mix SEPS and SEBS copolymers .. and then by weight use 5% copolymers to 95% mineral oil (plasticizing oil).

https://www.google.com/patents/US5807360

This is from the patent US5782818 ;
"White mineral oil, naphthenic oils, and synthetic oils are preferred. Other oils include petroleum paraffinic oils, petroleum naphthenic oils, synthetic polybutene oils, synthetic polypropene oils, synthetic polyterpene oils and mixtures thereof.

The most preferred gel for use with the present invention is a mixture of plasticizing oil and a block copolymer selected from styrene ethylene butylene styrene block (SEBS) copolymers and styrene ethylene propylene styrene (SEPS) block copolymers. Preferred are mixtures of both block copolymers in a ratio of 1:5 to 5:1, with about 1:1 being most preferred. Particularly preferred are gels formed from a mixture of 5-9% by weight of the block copolymer and 90-94% by weight of the plasticizing oil, of course with trace amounts of pigments and fillers."

The patents are an interesting read for inventors .. 1998 was year patients were approved.

It's a guess that there's a chance that if a manufacturer started using something similar to the FL formula, they'd catch flack that would prevent them from shipping dolls to states that honor the patent. Albeit, FL material is the most durable material, as far as I can tell, for sex toys. I have speculated that if dolls were made of a similar material, they'd have the potential to effortlessly last many years so long as such dolls had equally durable skeletons. Surely, there are other factors to consider. I'm confident the chemists in China know about the FL formula.

About fiddling. I don't know that even a chemist can source the needed ingredients.

"A device useful for collection of sperm from human males, preferably in a discreet, camouflaged manner."

LOL, well I guess that's one way to describe it. :)

Interesting, thanks for the post r363b.
I think utility patents are only good for 20 years so it looks like they might be expiring soon.

BTW, you might want to edit your post - the word is "patent" not "patient". :wink:

I found the sources for the mineral oil and copolymers. You just have to buy in very large quantities .. to much for a little inventor to mess with. And also, as MannequinFan said, next year the patents run out.

I imagine 20 metric tons requires a container. I've seen some of those options.

It's not that bad .. from distributors you have a few hundred pounds minimum. But I am sure it would be tons if purchased directly from the copolymers resin manufactures !!
