How to Keep Head from Turning too Easily?

Sorry if this has been discussed thousands of times, but I couldn't find anything through searches. Anyway, my doll has a screw on head and when I think it's all the way on (TPE on head and neck make contact), it still turns too easily. I've thought of putting teflon tape on the threads. Has anyone tried this or some other method that works?

Also, the adapter bolt can be completely removed from body and the head. Do you usually seat it in the head or body first before attaching the head? Maybe that doesn't matter. Thanks!

Thanks for the link. The rubber washer/spacer idea looks interesting.

these screw on doll heads really need to be upgraded with some king of semi-tight ball & socket swivel adapter so you can turn, tilt & rotate the head to pose as desired.
my dolls head would constantly end up swiveling around like in a scene from a poltergeist movie.
inconvenient at best, downright disturbing turn-off at worst.
I saw where one doll-owner home home-fabbed a type of ball & socket joint for the head and it seems like it should be a simple easy mod for manufacturers to offer

Yes, I've used teflon tape. I does help if you wrap enough around the threads.

The thread is basically a nipple that you can find in the electrical section of your local hardware store.

I made a makeup stand for my doll's head with parts from that section of the hardware store.
