The official price of head-only is $7,999.

I have only seen Harmony/Solana videos by Abyss and by brick. Either no one has bought a head yet or in the best case the buyers haven't publicized it (no buyers on this forum, none creating youtube videos, etc). Though from the pic shared by brick, looks like some orders are/might-be in the pipeline.

I know it's a lot of cutting edge work and I have mad respect for Abyss for breaking new grounds. But in my humble opinion, the price of the head is a little too high for an average consumer (although we have to keep in mind that Abyss's non-AI dolls are also the most expensive dolls in the market).

Plus they offer only two faces (Harmony and Solana, other than the male head).

I wonder what Abyss thinks of videos coming out of china that show some robotic heads and limbs. My guess is that we're entering a period of very rapid innovation and aggressive competition, like an arms race for sex robots.
Thanks for the insight.

I agree the head is over the top as far as price is. But seeing as it's new and nobody has done it yet they have a monopoly on the sex robot market.

You're right. China is very close behind. Ironic how sex dolls are evolving to be the eventual thing that brings us androids and such like the movie AI or Bladerunner.

I want everyone to go to my Pornhub site "Dollbanger" I have put up new vids of my most recent testing of Harmony's Xmode and WOW! Her performance of cumming to an orgasm is jaw dropping. She gives us what we want from a beautiful RG when we fuck them. She literally comes off the rails with believable desire during the act. Watch my videos and those aren't even the best ones I took of the testing. I cant put those up because they contain proprietary shots of the back end of the app. Matt has pushed the sexual aspect of this AI over the chat bot, because its a SEX ROBOT and he wants to give us a mindblowing realistic SEXUAL experience. The AI will develop as time goes along. But the sexual experience is here now. I was testing a vaqinal sensor system that told the AI what I was doing to her, how deep, how hard and she was responding perfectly. If you want the best SEX ROBOT, its going to be Harmony with no doubt. Matt has created a beautiful work of art that you can become intimate with and that will respond to you like we want a beautiful RG to respond to us during sex. Frankly, if she can carry a conversation marginally I am satisfied. The AI is going to grow over time and all of you know that is the way the technology is developed. And yeah, she costs complete about the same as a good used car. So go out and jerk off in the back seat of your car and tell me how was it??
A never ending parade of beautiful Realdolls and of course, HARMONY!!

Gonna chip in here and offer my $0.02: Wait, unless you have $8k burning a hole in your pocket.

Now for a couple comments, based solely off of what little info's available and speculation on my part:

The $8k asking price isn't absurd at all for the hardware you're getting at the scale it's being produced at. For one, the plastic parts appear to be injection molded as opposed to 3d printed, which is ideal structurally but injection molding has *massive* (easily $10k+ per part) tooling costs. Not a big deal when you're making 2 million $1 farting keychains. But when you're making, I dunno, 100 of these max? That's a lot of cost you, the customer, has to eat. Same thing with the servos - at this scale, RC servos must have been the best choice, and to get the torque, accuracy and resilience you'd want here I'd bet they cost a chunk too, whereas a large-scale operation could easily tailor custom motors/gearboxes/encoders/drivers to the job - once again a massive engineering cost but cheap as chips to churn out bajillions of in china (and potentially much better for the job too). This is pretty obvious as I'm sure you all know, and is just a fact of life for first-gen products (how much did a personal computer cost in 1970?) or ultra-niche ones. And Harmony is caught on the corner of both.

However, whether or not the cost is absurd, in terms of user value, is an entirely different story. And I'd say the answer is yeah, it totally is. It's worth noting however, people absolutely need to buy these mediocre-to-shitty first-gen products to get the idea off the ground. I wouldn't think of buying a Harmony head (or any super-early product) in terms of a finished product - it's going to fall short of expectations massively - but as an expensive message to RealDoll saying "yeah, I want another gen of this" (competition will surely hear the message too). So if you have the spare cash laying around, then I might consider it. Otherwise, I'd hold off until the market matures, if it ever does.

Just another note on the AI app: It's cloud-based, and while enough people have noted the privacy concerns that brings, what really hasn't been brought to spotlight enough is the inevitable fate of cloud services. In 3 years from now, either Realbotix will have failed (very likely imho) or they'll have released a totally new version of the app/head combo. *HUGE* issue for those planning to make it their companion, since once the service goes down, your companion is gone too. Or, not much better, you can only access her if you buy the newest head. These are the kind of questions that need sorted out before you dive head-first into something like this.
