Poll from Realdoll: What would make you a customer?

Re: Poll from Realdoll: What would make you a customer?
I bought a Realdoll 2nd hand back in 03 and loved the doll but hated the crate it came in. The crate is huge and as a big guy who played football in college, I found it hard to handle. Plus a LTL truck had to deliver it to my house, so no way to have this delivered on the down low for those of us who must keep our hobby a secret.
I have an older Boy Toy and the box it was shipping in is more manageable, and it would be great if a Realdoll could also come in a similar box. Still heavy but can be managed especially with a small dolly.
Additionally, a new company Dollsweet has one body, the DS167, molded after a real girl, sexy hips, great breast without being a cartoon character; I wish you guys had a similar body. Also they sell a head of an older say late 30's or 40's year old, wish you had something similar for those of us with MILF fantasies.
Love your products best quality and most durable. Definitely need to point out that TPE is unstable and at best will last 2 years while your products although costing more will last a decade if properly cared for.
Thanks,

1) Price is too high. I always went with cheaper dolls because they have a better (perceived) value. If RealDolls cost 1/2 or 2/3 as much without sacrificing quality that would make a big difference.
2) Weight is too high. Every silicone or TPE doll weighs too much, but RealDoll seems heavier than most.
3) Shipping in a huge wooden crate is not discreet.
4) The faces don't appeal to me, with the one exception being "Sai".
The way I see it, you can solve #1 and gain a lot of customers with smaller budgets, or you can solve #2, #3, and #4, so that more people believe the premium price is worth spending.

I would have to go with if the Price were under 2500 (in my opinion though I cant swing quite that much even right now.)
And my second choice would be They should be able to stand . Its all about the more realistic the mnore value it is. Which includes so many things. Pubic hair, Proportioned realisticly . Fluid movements capable of mostly mimicing a person for the most part so you could bend them & change their positions sometime. No one could expect all this for under 2500 ofcoarse, I was just thinking outloud is all.

While the crates are huge and somewhat difficult to manage, you only have to deal with LTL if you buy secondhand (AFAIK). When you purchase direct from Abyss from within the lower 48 US states, they work with a smaller shipping company that (in my case) utilizes unmarked vans capable of carrying the crate as well as a hand-truck for bringing inside the home. Basically, whatever arrangements you need to maximize privacy, Abyss will do their best to accomodate. To be honest, as much as the crates are a pain to deal with once you actually have the doll, I wouldn't want them shipped any other way. The crates are sturdy and extremely well packed, and for those that don't have alternate means they do serve as a safe way of storing your doll (provided you have space for the crate).Fitz62 wrote:Hi,

In the FAQs section of the RealDoll website, the company discusses that, because each doll is made-to-order, they don't offer financing. They do take installment payments starting with a minimum down of $1,500, and upon full completion of payment they will begin the doll's manufacture.ZebramDollImmortal wrote:1.Since RD has money, it be nice to have payment plan options, like installments, for those less fortunate.
I originally shared this complaint when I first started browsing TDF mid-late 2016, in regards to your "masculine jaw line" comment, and similarly did not get what people were seeing. However, I think the company has made moves in the right direction, and I submit Rebecca (my current favorite and the one I own), Tanya, and Stephanie as evidence. All 3 are some of the newest face options, with the first two being designed as "full-head" skulls for a better artistic direction. The Stephanie face is surprising in that it is typically a magnet face option, yet manages not to share the same degree of masculine jaw that her magnet-skull sisters possess (plus she looks like a Bond babe straight out of the 60s). As far as the pricing goes...eh. The competition is usually at least $2k cheaper at a minimum, and many of them offer standing options, so it's hard to argue your point. Naturally, that's why they had this poll in the first place, to see what they had to work on the most. Clearly, "lower price" and "standing" won, although the first was a bit of a given, albeit at a ridiculous discount. I think a more realistic cost would be to start the newest RD models at $4000.Ztar073 wrote:I too also find the faces problematic. Jaws are not feminine and many of the faces look unpleasant. A few are ok, but given the price point I should be able to get a face that is exactly what I want. It seems the current owners that are happy with the current faces can not understand the problem. I think it is obvious to the rest of us . Personally I have never seen a realdoll in front of me. To me it looks like the dolls should cost $3 to 4 thousand. I cant see spending more then that on those dolls compared to the competition that is significantly cheaper. So what would make me spend the current asking price? A doll with a skeleton that mirrors the real thing in movement and anatomy. When I touch the bone on her wrist I want it to be the bone of the wrist with a thinner layer of silicone over it. I expect the doll to stand. The eyes to open and close. I expect it to be warmed internally. I expect multiple layers of textured skin (example: skin crease lines around armpits, crotch , ect but also a layer of regular skin texture on top). There is a long way to go with just dolls before robotix and A.I. to pay a realdoll price abyss has to make me want it. Right now I am not willing to pay the price for what is offered.

TPE won't last 2 years? Somebody tell that to Vema. She seemed fine this afternoon when I boinked her, and she is past that mark. Do I expect my Real Doll to outlast her? Yes, but she costed 4 times as much. I seriously doubt she will last 4 times as long, but we'll see.Fitz62 wrote: Love your products best quality and most durable. Re: Poll from Realdoll: What would make you a customer?
I'm into petite A/B-cups with cute faces. As an example, IMHO, WM-157 w/ #159 head is the most attractive doll in the market today. Her boobs are the biggest I'd ever want, but the athletic shape and design allows for it. My other dolls are A-cup, thin, and sexy. WM has 146 heads available and 10+ of them are attractive to me. Meaning I am into just 7% of what is available. But that's plenty enough to be happy about.
The only configuration I've ever considered at Abyss was a RD2 Body C with a Michelle head. The body itself is really good. I can't complain about it, but it is too bad there is not more petite bodies. I keep hoping for new faces, but all the RD faces are plagued with the jawline and mouth shape problems that others here have mentioned. This is my biggest complaint when it comes down to it. I feel that this may never be solved because of the base skull. The jaw in the skull is too full in the bottom and the face will always be square. The lips are always in the "meh" configuration. The look is like I just paid ahead for services and she now realizes she's gotta work. She's not that excited and no longer has to seduce a sale.
The idea of being able to swap faces is neat, but this introduces almost a fatal flaw. It might require a new skull that would allow for a jawline adapter to accommodate legacy faces. Newer faces could take advantage of more rounded shapes and have better lip expressions. To really address this, a swappable jaw/cheek insert that would allow for a the lips to smile or seduce would be groundbreaking. And a robotic head would do these expressions autonomously.

As others have mentioned more pornstar models, that would entice me. That could be your companies niche. As of now no way not even on my radar even though I am in the process of order a new doll.

Re: Poll from Realdoll: What would make you a customer?
Where to start?
1.Cost. Back in 2014 I had to take a 12.5% pay cut and have not got any of it back. So basically I am making what I made about 8 or 9 years ago. A lower cost doll would be a big help.
2. Body 4 was my favorite. Since it is no longer available I had to find someone that makes a body similar.
3. Customer service. When I ordered my 2nd body 4 I specifically said that I did NOT want any makeup. When she arrived
she had makeup around her eyes.
4. Mouth insert. I got this with my wickedrealdoll. I HATE IT.
5. I don't really like the face system. I think a full head would be much better.
6. I also miss the Velcro that used to be on the heads to keep the wigs from falling off.
I work in a factory and really HATE sending money to china when so many US factory workers are out of work.
Re: Poll from Realdoll: What would make you a customer?
I don't remember exactly but like 1000 dollars and she only gets to the nearest international airport... So then I need to get her through customs and get another shipper to bring her home. This is where I closed the webpage in agony a few times.
Also, the total cost issue of course. Especially before I knew how much dolls can mean to me.
When I finally got my doll she came from China but shipped first to the UK then to Sweden and delivered to my door. No hassle. If you can come up with a box solution instead of the crate I think it would benefit you.
