Yes, the price increases are not going to be catastrophic. Although 4 yrs is a long time, I think you will have no problem getting anything you want. With that kind of money you should be able to get a BT with the new Harmony AI headByakuya Kuciki wrote:When i get back into dolls i want to get a realdoll. I have roughly four years to save my money, and my planned budget for when i do get into dolls again is around 15k. I have my eyes set on a Boytoy, do you think ill still be able to afford one after the price increases?

No, absolutely not....HotDiggityDoll wrote:Zebo, another US doll maker just announced that they will be making their dolls available in TPE or Silicone versions, is Realdoll planning to do likewise?

blindwebster wrote:Increasing their prices again after dropping them? I have always wanted a RD, but I could never bring myself to spend that kind of money. This is not the way to sway someone like me, but they will do what they have to do, I suppose. I guess TPE will continue to get even bigger.
I think everyone is looking at this the wrong way. It's all about supply and demand. I am new to this subject but I don't see how 'love dolls' are any different in terms of market dynamics. There will be low cost, low-end products all the way up to high-price, high-end goods. There will always be consumers with the cash and desire to buy the higher end product(s) on the market and there will be consumers who don't have the disposable income or the desire to buy them. Real Doll is obviously targeting the former and is the equivalent of a 'premium' manufacturer like Rollex. They have been able to stay in business and do well for quite a while so I don't see that changing with a price increase. With a few exceptions, it's the folks with lots of disposable income to spend on such a product who would be considering them to begin with. Everyone else, like me, who don't want to spend that kind of money right away are considering the mid-range market. Just the way things work.
As far as the TPE market boom, the lower cost TPE dolls might actually help future Real Doll sales as it allows new consumers to taste the waters who would not otherwise have entered the market due to not wanting to spend the Real Doll prices. This might lead to future buyers who get into the hobby and want to move up. Some will just hang it up and move on. But some will want another doll in the future and a percentage of these will choose a more pricey and premium option like Real Doll. Lower cost TPE manufacturers are good for the future of a company like Real Doll IMO. Competition and a diverse market is good. It not only drives innovation but often leads to cross-sales and more demand from enthusiasts.

I thought and said the same thing but my post was removed. They certainly must be busier than ever judging by the wait times right now and the ever growing popularity of dolls.
I would imagine that the AI project is eating cash too.
Reorganization must be necessary and it is what it is. I wonder what the increase will be percentage wise, 10% - 20% would be my guess based on increases in the past from doll manufacturers.
Well, at least we'll be able to say, remember when ... : )

I wonder if it's your post I was just searching for - I was looking forward to seeing the response to a certain comment here, but apparently, removal was deemed more important than clarification.siliconelover wrote:I thought and said the same thing but my post was removed...blindwebster wrote:Increasing their prices again after dropping them?

That's like 6.2L V8 corvettes having 2.0T 4-banger engines. Yeah never gonna happen!Zebo wrote:No, absolutely not....HotDiggityDoll wrote:Zebo, another US doll maker just announced that they will be making their dolls available in TPE or Silicone versions, is Realdoll planning to do likewise?
The price increases do bother me, but I would rather they stay in business, and will continue to support them. Their AI work is really right on, but I'm waiting a bit to see how those play out.

Re: REALDOLL PRICE INCREASES APRIL 5th
realdoll might wanna consider a separate TPE product line down the road, lol idk why y'all scoff at the idea. American made TPE dolls would be a great market, at least keeps money here in the States and makes shipping quicker/easier (and cuts out customs).. plus, the 99% is only getting poorer, and believe it or not, the signs are there of another 2007 style recession coming soon... The amount of people willing to pay premium silicone doll price may be getting smaller and smaller, though it already has, since China has so many great options.
You rich guys are outta touch as always, us lower and middle class people decide which companies rise and fall, through higher market-share. Why do you think Walmart is thriving, while so many other stores go under? ("Save Money, Live Better" - Walmart motto.)

Re: REALDOLL PRICE INCREASES APRIL 5th
Im from EU aswell, i have been thinking alot about this myself since it COSTs up to 50% of doll price in customs etc. My best idea so far is to have it shipped to a hotel in the US(not California), open it there, repack it, remove abyss labels etc from shipping and ship it yourself/bring it with you on the same airplane home to europé and that way avoid most of the customs fees etc since atleast where im from there is a huge difference what you pay if you recieve a box with a brand new item from US or if you travel with a used/opened item yourself from the US. If lucky you dont even have to pay any customs fees or anything at all even since most of the time customs check at Airport are empty.apn12 wrote:We EU customers can not order from USA anything, because custom duty can rise to very high. Not sure if this works though, but it's an idea.

I would use real and only real girls. No fantasy heads, no animals, no aliens.
Re: REALDOLL PRICE INCREASES APRIL 5th
I think Irontech is doing a few things in this direction. Hopefully they do more. The more I see of Irontechs pornstar doll body, the more I like it. I wonder if other heads will be available.LovesBlackWomen wrote:I wish I knew how to open my own doll company.

I agree with you as far as using real girls.
I'm not sure anyone that's built a doll company knew how to do it either. They probably had a certain skill set, art design/molding/business acumen etc, a vision and pressed on. Could have worked a full time job, who knows? As they ran into obstacles they teamed up with people who believed in the vision and could bolster the effort where it was weak until they have a product to sell or show to more capital investors.
