No weakness here - it's rather a sign of strength to make a decision to do what is good for you and more healthy in the end. Everyone has to respect that!
Too Much activity and time investment in such a (great) forum can easy go in a wrong direction and can absorb all of your energy..

Appreciate that you are always helpful, kindly and encouraging to a lot of people
And of course, I'm an admirer of your brilliant and inspiring work!

You all are really special to me, and every time I talk to any of you I get reminded of that. For all of my problems, I really am glad I found this place.

I've been hanging around a little yesterday and today, keeping an eye on the voting booth for the photo challenge I'm running and I swear, I feel like some sort of junkie hanging around in a hash bar... The more I log in, the more I want to participate. lol

So, for the next couple of days anyway, I'm just gonna say f*ck it and have some hash...

And with that in mind (and because a couple of people have asked me to) here are some pics I spent the holiday weekend doing. (Yeah, even though I haven't been around, I'm still doing photo shoots with my sweetheart.)

I have guitars all over the place here, and I figured it was time to see how many poses I could come up with revolving around those. It was one of my favorite shoots so far actually. I ran out of ideas before I ran out of guitars though, so there will eventually be more of these.

Most of them feature my usual "sledgehammer" retouching, but hey... I like it. lol

Skimped a bit on the wardrobe though. lol

It really turned out to be one of my favorites.

On another note, I have to share this bit on nonsense....
Anna Marie has a Flickr account. We mostly post all of the same images there that you see here. She gets a few views now and then. No big deal. Well, about a week or so ago, some guy on there starts favoriting a bunch of her shots, leaving comments all over the place, etc. We started up a conversation, and he seemed nice enough. Then, tonight he asks if we could do a threesome with Anna... I assumed he was mostly joking, and of course I told him Anna would never go for it. Then he says how about just him and Anna. Still, I assume he's joking. He's been fairly nice up til now, and literally must have left 50 comments on her photos... So, anyway, I replied with something like "lol. I'm afraid you'll have to get your own." I even told him about this place in case he wanted to do some research... He then responds with "This has been a waste of time." and deleted all of his comments.. lol

So, just a word of warning. There are assholes on the internet....

Sigh....

It's always great to step away from online activities for a bit.
At first your feel anxious because you are missing important stuff.
But the you realise that its not really all that important, in the big scheme of life.

I personally stay away from Instagram and other forums.
I have been logged off of Facebook for the last 2 months, and plan on only logging in once a year to do a quick look around.
We probably get jerks like that Instagram guy in TDF as well, but our great moderators weed them out before we even know about it.

I like that you are still photographing even when you have stepped away.
Those latest guitar photo's are great.
Maybe they are great because you were less worried about producing pictures for TDF and contests, and were just taking the pictures for your own enjoyment.
So step away for a while. Enjoy life. enjoy Anna Marie, enjoy photography.
When you come back, you'll find you enjoy it even more.

Cool photos of Anna Marie and your guitars! I can understand the need to take a break. I've been doing so a tiny bit too since I've been working on my house. The internet can become all time consuming and when you look up at the clock you realize that so much time has passed!
