Holy crap man! I just now noticed this thread! You're doing some great work here! Have you thought about production of more of these beauties?

Thanks rlover and Simba! I really appreciate the compliments! :)

Simba, I've thought about doing more of these MQs, although my main efforts have been with the Eva4 mannequin as she's less expensive, more petite and all round better suited for modding. I've done 4 of those so far...

Now that I think about it, I should probably add some links in my signature to my mod threads since my album is mostly old stuff.

I hope everyone has had a nice holiday! Mine was peaceful and quiet as usual.
Took another look at Fiona yesterday using the dark gray upper eyelids and the invisible lowers, and ZOWIE! she came to life!
I must have done something right as the eyes appear to almost follow me as I walk by her!
As with Abby, just used a little matching eye liner at the corners. It's more of a doll eye look than realistic but I'm finding that I actually prefer that over trying to be super realistic. There seems to be more life in them somehow.

This is with Sammie's short auburn wig...

Now if you connect those eyes to a servo, you can use a Raspberry Pi with a camera and some eye-tracking software to make her REALLY always look right into your eyes. And with two more servos (for which you'll need a special software driver like servo-blaster or pi-blaster, since the RasPi only has one hardware PWM, but you can split it into up to nine software ones), you can even make her blink and wink, controlling each eyelid individually.
Acomocliticism - interesting word indeed.

Mgh be easier with an Arduino since you wouldn't have all of the overhead of an entire OS running... And you could just get a motor/servo shield instead of another software driver. The RasPi is great but I think it wold be overkill here.

Here's a robotic eye mechanism with eyelids very similar to Fiona's.
Too bad the clip is so short - no info on how it was made or links...

Why do I get the impression that someday I'll be buying my very first fembot from you? :)
Annie: Shirley! We were just...
Abed: About to...
Troy: Eat garbage dip!... WHY DID I HAVE TO GO THIRD?!

Hey thanks DP but I wouldn't hold your breath, lol.
I think I'm gettin too old to try to master all that encompasses robotics.
I think I might be able to handle the mechanical aspects but with the electronics I would have no idea.

Here's another YouTube that shows how simple the eye mechanism could be. Just 2 servos per eye with some RC car ball joints.
If I wanted to pour myself into it I think I could probably do something like this...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5z0B4hEKb3Y More info: https://tinyparades.wordpress.com/2011/ ... mechanism/

I think the bigger question is would I really want it. Not sure.
I don't think I'd want eyes that just blinked and moved around at random. I think that would look a little nuts to be honest.
In order to be pleasing and not just annoying, I think it's going to have to be all worked out - tied in with A.I. responses and emotion, facial expressions and the works to be believable.

Hi Hanachash, not sure what you mean by template. For the robotic eyes or the mannequin?

I'm so impressed by your work. Have you ever thought of selling one of your projects after it's completed? I'm sure there is a market for them. heck I would be very interested in buying one, especially this mod. it looks amazing so far.
