I bought 26mm as your first post said you should have gone with them but the links you posted above are for 30mm and 22mm. Whiich is the correct size you would recommend?

88CM sanhui: They don't even use half eyes, More like crecent moon slits. the corners are sharp enough to cut the corner of the eye just removing/installing them as they are not properly deburred. Factory installed mine nicely but I was not so skilled.Mittababale wrote:Dark One, why can't you point them in any other direction?
on the 'sideways look' face, the sideways angle is part of the mold for holding the eyes in position, I tried padding behind the eyes to get them to look straight once but she went all bulged eye.
The sideways look gives her a lot of emotion IMO not found in a lot of dolls.
Sometimes it looks like she is shyly looking at you without you noticing. Other times she is looking away while facing you.
its a wonderful look but I would love her to look straight ahead sometimes too.
I really wonder why so many doll vendors use half eyes and such. I can't imagine its a big deal to have the mold take full eyes instead of half eyes.

From 1 corner to the other of my 165 doll's eye opening is about 21-22mm. The flat eyes that she comes with are 24mm. From top to bottom is about 10-11mm. So if round 26mm eyes are too big from top to bottom she may look surprised! I guess you can just cut out more from her eye socket to make more room for them to fit better. Not just from the back, but from the top and bottom of her eyes is where it's gonna stretch her eyelids open. If you remove too much you could still stuff in some shredded cotton balls like some other dolls use... Personally, I would get different sizes for different effects.

Re: Sanhui movable eyes.
I installed them a month ago and they looked terrible. As TheIQF said, she did look surprised. I had to keep cutting away more on the insides week by week as I didn't want to remove more than I needed to. I think she's almost there though. I took these last week-end and I think I'll stop messing with them for now.
I had trouble moving them even with lubricant on the inside. I read somewhere here, not sure where though, to add paper behind them and that did the trick. Much easier to move now. I guess the real trick now is getting good at keeping the pupils aligned. I need a lot of practice with that.
