Chinese Documentary on Doll Owners [Eng Sub]

Hello folks!

《对它/她说》is a Chinese documentary by 箭厂视频 on dolls and their owners. (featuring DS/EX dolls)

It's a unique perspective of doll ownership in China.

Since there wasn't any english subbed versions, I decided to make one for the trailer.

We get to see the introduction to the DS/EX factory and three doll owners:
-”打桩叔“，an experienced doll owner.
-“Destiny 七夕”, a married doll owner.
-Unnamed middle-aged doll owner whose wife had passed away.

Interestingly, their relationship with their dolls isn't sexual in nature.

It was very insightful to get a glimpse of doll ownership in China.

Compared to the UK/US doll owner (depicted in various documentaries), there seems to be similarities and differences.

Any thoughts about that?

I remember it was around 2017 that DS came out with the robotic head prototype. It's 2019 and still no news of it's release

It's a 4 part documentary with each segment focusing on a different topic:
-The DS factory
-“打桩叔” aka "Piling Uncle" who doesn't have sex with his dolls.
-”Destiny七夕“ aka "Destiny Qixi" who lives with his wife, daughter and dolls.
-A middle aged widow who lives with a doll resembling his lost love.

Which one would you like to see subbed first?

I would prefer they fix the issues on current dolls, and improve the EVO line, before bothering with the robotics.

YES! Katie is very much alive! not just to you but to me and many other doll lovers here, but don’t be afraid to say she is a doll, dolls are another entity to us, maybe better than a RG for some of us
So to say she is a doll is a good thing. To me Doll = love, companionship and happiness
The happiness they can bring us is beyond what any other object in the world can bring us imho
That makes them more than alive to me
