best kind of corn starch?

Post by gunsmithcat »

Hello everybody!

I have to re-post this because it looks like it didn't post the first time. Does anybody here have any advice on which kind of corn starch would last longer? I have to corn starch my doll every 2-3 days, I'm a very touchy person, so I was wondering if there is any specific kind that would last longer, I know they recommend to corn starch or powder every week, but it looks like its wearing off too fast for me... I'm hesitant to use powder because it always makes me cough and I know its not good health wise.

Any ideas? thanks in advance.

I use Argo brand corn starch. You can get it in the baking aisle at Walmart, couple bucks for a big thing of it

I use 100% cornstarch baby powder. It is easier to apply and makes MUCH less of a mess.

My 'hood has a wolf spider infestation. I haven't seen any on my girls, but I see the dead ones piled up by the walls (I sprayed everything w pesticide) No roaches here... had em at my old place but they didn't bother my girls either.

ugh, fuck crickets. I didn't know they bit silicone babes, that just makes me hate em more. We used to get swarms of em in Texas every fall, they had to sweep them off the sidewalks... but what's worse is getting a couple behind something in your house and searching everywhere never to find it, and having to hear it for days before it dies...

Off topic I know lol... crickets just suck.

For my own DS dolls I have three different Johnson & Johnson baby powders I use, each with a different effect on the skin:

- Unscented basic powder: applies the minimum level of silkiness to the skin, leaving it lightly shiny but may require more frequent application due to the powder not forming a thick coating

- Unscented with aloe: applies a good level of silkiness to the skin that doesn't require frequent recoating. This is the best option for a smooth feel without leaving a thick coating

- Lavender scented powder: applies a thick coating of powder, perfect when slipping on very tight clothing such as faux leather and long gloves so they don't stick to the skin. The powder holds very well to the skin, with coatings staying a little thick over a few days of laying a doll in bed.

Each powder has a different effect, but I prefer baby powder over corn starch since the latter will attract insects. I recommend the powder with aloe, since it provides a good silky coating without excess powder and doesn't need to be applied often to keep the skin smooth.
