One more DS Color Guide

So from time to time I think of something to give back to the TDF community.

I know when I was selecting the color for my DS163+, it was hard to decide because I knew the monitor wouldn't really represent the doll's skintone in real life.

So I when I recently got a color muse, I figured I'd help out by giving a better reference to the colors in real life.
Using the information below, you can go to any Home Depot, Lowes or other paint store and find a fair representation of the DS color palette. Please check this thread for updates. If I find closer representations of the colors (some I couldn't find a paint that's over 90% similar), I'll update it here.

Doll Sweet "White"

So while not perfect, it should give you a very close idea of what the colors are like without the monitor variations that you get when looking at the colors online. Now - the only other thing I would note that's different between paint samples and the silicone is that the silicone in almost all cases seemed a little more muted (less saturation of color). That lends itself to a more "lifelike" feel.

Damn dude, thanks. Currently saving for a ds and the colour is about the main thing i want right. Really is hard to tell of the monitor. A lot of work went that, cheers

Thanks! BCD has been amazing! As close to bespoke as you're going to get with TPE, it's almost like getting prescription haha! Thorough, sensitive to your needs and limitations, friendly and thoughtful. Flashy websites are no match for a Jeff's one on one service.

Why I chose BCD; Once I found them I spent a couple months on the forums getting a feel for the ‘temperature’ of the industry, community and it’s members and was generally impressed with all the certified manufacturers, vendors, and community members here, many of whom volunteer their time and expertise willingly to any who ask, I’m sure I could have chosen almost any certified vendor and had a satisfactory experience. But for me Jeff and BCD stood out. Firstly he was based here in the US and additionally because I found him to always be informative and helpful - he always seemed to put the extra effort into helping community members to be as informed as possible, whether they were his customers or not, and he also has a great ‘network’ of community members that he regularly works with to provide many extra services to his customers. On top of that I came across several satisfied customers of his on these forums who had given him glowing reviews of their own. So once my decision was made I reached out to Jeff via email and told him what my goals were.

I chose BCD as my vendor because nearly everyone recommended him above all others and his testaments are longer than my Thesis Paper I wanted the best vendor for my first (and probably only)doll purchase and he surpassed my expectations!... ....I was extremely apprehensive at laying out a paycheck on something I couldn't see or touch in person, but Jeff made the process extremely smooth and stress free. The ONLY time I wouldn't suggest going through Jeff is if he can't get the doll you want...and he can get a hold of damn near all of them! He is extremely dedicated to getting you the lady you want exactly the way you want her. He might as well rename the company Bespoke Companion Dolls as far as I'm concerned.As a doll owner himself, he offered several insights and warnings when I was going through the purchasing process, and I found that extremely refreshing as many salespeople want to sell you a product regardless of the outcome. Jeff has a solid-gold reputation and now I know why!

This is a vitally important post and research and thanks for contributing.

With confusions of colour terminology of other manufacturers what you've done here puts one's ability to order with confidence one step ahead with DS.

Thank you sir! I'm happy to give back to a forum that's helped so many folks find happiness in this hobby/lifestyle.

I'm going to try to find some color samples that are even closer for those two that are only about 90%. Just need to get to another paint store.

Do you (or anyone) happen to have more info on DS' latest color, Natural? I have not been able to search for dolls with this latest skin here.

Attached are pics from DS' webpage.

I really like Samantha in Brown (Dark Elf on DS' webpage), but JiaYi looks better in a lighter shade, but has to be dark enough for Samantha… I don't know if Natural would be dark enough for Samantha, and Tan would be too dark for JiaYi (as some members have said Tan is not much different from Brown).

I don't mind doing a color comparison if someone would send me a sample of the silicone. Jeff (my vendor) sent me the color samples for me to do this PSA. But I haven't updated it.
