UK documentary from Channel 5 about dolls (June 2019)

Last night, here in the UK, channel 5 screened another episode in their series 'The Sex Business'. It was probable the most in depth look at the world of dolls we have yet seen on mainstream TV over here so for that reason alone is worth a watch. Personally I thought it was a good, balanced piece and kudos to the young guy that bravely allowed himself to be filmed getting jiggy with his gal (although I gather this was probably set up for the show as the doll seemed to be a loaner). We see some familiar faces from across the pond including Brick with Harmony (who really does have a potty mouth bless her!). There's also a look at a new UK company making dolls based on pornstars which was new to me, anyway here's the link to the channel 5 web site. Not sure if this will work outside the UK and it may need you to register before you can view. It's just under an hour long and part of a no holds barred look at the current state of sexuality in the UK:

They (dolls) pop up on tv here in the US. I saw a few shows just recently one a sitcom & the other was one of the morning news & entertainment shows on one of the major networks. The Doctors (canceled here in Vegas now) and a few others in the past. Even on Family Guy someone had a sex doll. The first i ever saw the advanced dolls was way back on Howard Sterns E show with a then just released not to long before Real Doll. That gave me the itch to check them out on the net i had a WebTV unit back then with a slow super slow snail speed connection.

I understand from the UK forum, that many had some grumpy gripes with the vid.

So looking forward to seeing what that was about.

So far firefox is not playing the game, so giving it a crack with a UK based proxy via VPN.

Edge and IE and chrome browsers advise vid not viewable outside the British Isles, after doing the age confirmation deal.

So far no dice!

Hi Anung, it may pop up on YouTube at some point, I've noticed that the BBC are now streaming some of their stuff on there. I'm not too sure where the gripes could come from, to be fair to the production team they did reach out to a few UK doll owners including myself but what they wanted was a little too rich for me. I've seen a few of their 'Sex Business' shows now and I thought they were quite good and not as sensationalist as I was expecting. I did find myself grimacing a bit at how some of the dolls were presented, ie with wonky eyes and poorly placed wigs but it was fascinating to see the 3d technology being used to scan a pornstars body to create a doll and the result looked impressive. Harmony cracked me up when she invited Brick to f*** her up the ass all night long, now that's something you don't hear a nice gal say, naughty Harmony!

I watched that Channel 5 program last night. I thought it was mostly okay, but not as good as the one from about 18 months ago that featured the late CrazyCajun from TDF.
The Channel 5 program last night did say that it was difficult to get established doll owners to open up in public, as you'd expect.

On the program we had:

1) A guy with some elf dolls.
2) A new company trying to create TPE dolls based on pornstars. Never seen them before. They seemed to be out of their depth.
3) A guy who was trying to have sex with a doll for the first time. He threw the poor doll around a lot!
4) A doll brothel in Europe somewhere, where a girl tried out a male doll for the first time and wasn't impressed.
5) Galmato Haven were shown repairing RealDolls in the USA.
6) Brick Dollbanger showing videos of him and Harmony and other RealDolls.
7) Brief appearance of the CEO of Abyss who make RealDolls, who talked a bit about robot dolls.

What I thought was missing was any representation of the deep affection and care (love maybe?) that a lot of us have for our dolls.
The guy with the elf dolls was maybe the only one who seemed to actually care for his dolls.
So personally I was a bit sad after watching the show.

Mate, we gave it a good old crack, with some wizardry this end, and all the bloody lead in adds were entertaining, and showed in my mp4 ripper as well, but the bandwidth at the source is atrocious, even for the adds, and the vid just was stuck on the start screen with the JW player, not buffering at all.

No doubt if I had the patience for a few hours waiting, well could have snavelled and rehosted, but man, how do you guys tolerate that sort of pedestrain content load rate.

I appreciate the share of the link, and if any other host links (with some degree of load up speed pop up) feel free to post them community.

This is looking like Tsall may have to work his nets voodoo!

Hi djcdoll, yeah I can't disagree with your assessment. After watching last night I was left thinking that maybe I should have taken part after all, at least to show off the aspects of doll ownership you mention. They were frank with me though and said that their documentary series was specifically looking at sex and so when I spoke about my photography and the other benefits of having dolls they said that wasn't within the remit of their show. They were very keen to talk to people that could describe what it was like to have sex with a doll which is what I wasn't keen to do on camera and certainly be filmed doing! The irony is that I've banged on about how good it can be on here but at least we do have Brick who has the balls to be up front and both he and Harmony seemed to be enjoying themselves!

Yes, I agree with you. I kept thinking they should have had an owner on like Arthur1960, somebody who has a deep affection for his dolls.
However their aren't many owners like you Arthur1960, who are willing to pop their head over the parapet and risk the public judgement.
So I think we've still got a way to go before doll ownership becomes normalised and accepted by the general public.

So is there any latest news about the dolls? I mean if it is legal especially for the small sizes like 130 or even 100, and the child face as well.

Not quite sure what you are asking here Kevin? This post is about last night's TV documentary about adult looking dolls. It remains the case that anyone found to be importing child like dolls which are designed for sexual gratification will have the doll seized and will face a police investigation. The current legislation that covers this would seem to be under review so older, existing laws are being used in such cases but no one should be under any doubt that importing child like dolls into the UK will quite rightly land you in trouble.

We have the exact opposite thoughts Arthur.

You remember when they were on here touting for people to take part? They got little feedback. Was trash sleaze Tv at it's best. Channel 5 is the Sun of the TV world...and that production company as no interest in anything other than shock and tittivation.

As for their 'industry experts' rofl...don't make me laugh....and the woman especially..she has tried to get known here and was quickly shown the door. She is as dodgy as they come and she obviously just wanted her 5 mins of fame. GH's and Mats appearances were also nothing to do with program and lifted from other documentaries....*shakes head*....nothing more needs saying really does it about this production?

Programs like this DO NOTHING to help our community or become accepted in my opinion.
