The most important aspects in my opinion are doll-posing and lighting. Lighting, however doesn't need expensive stuff.

If anyone's interested I'm happy to help with doll posing.

A Professional having a course on Doll Photography? You think he/she would do that for absolutely FREE of charge?
I know I wouldn´t. Would you?

But I guess there are quite a few Videos on YT that can teach you a few things too.

Depends on this "Professional Photographer"

I would like to see his/hers portofolio before deciding. Those first pictures are not yet doing anything for me.

Cheers!

I think a good Youtube video would do the trick for most people.

It's all about the type of camera one uses and the lighting.
Of course styling of the doll and location. Those things can be simple or very elaborate.
Wigs, cheap wigs that come with a doll are never going to look good.Hair line is very important as is the placement of the wig.
I would suggest that anyone interested in bettering themselves. Find a good photo -pose and a model that is well styled. With an outfit (or nude) and try to copy that image/photo.
Do this slowly, it's always better to have one good photo that 20 or 100 bad ones.
Take your time, shoot 20 photos, look at them for mistakes. Then do the photo shoot again correcting anything you saw in the first 20.
Editing photos is a skill and can take years to master programs like photoshop or gimp.
It can also be done with good results with App's these days.

A class:
This would all be best done on Youtube in several series on each of the above.
This type of stuff I think is available on Youtube for free if you look hard enough.

Other than that, sometimes it's all about owning a doll and having fun. Not taking the photo time to seriously.

As a professional photographer, I support this 1000%.

Just remember, it's not about equipment. But understanding how to manipulate light to make the images you want.

It's a ton of trial and error. And failure.

But the key things are learning how light works. And poses/angles.

I'm kind of excited about this idea. It could turn in to a really fun online workshop.

I like the idea. Short videos and graphics to explain basics would be the base of a good startup. I'm not a professional at all and I would love some help on some details of the hobby. I'm learning a lot and still do after 4 years of having a doll.

I will personally try to make a thread on how I do my makeup. I've learned a new trick last weekend and I want to share it.

I'm not sure I want to pay a big amount for a course, but sure I might participate on some subject to learn more.

a YouTube video cant teach you that, trust me I was at a project photo shoot for a sportswear brand once. The way models looked, and the way pictures turned out from a professional photographer, are light years different. I could watch every photography video on YT for decades and I would never be able to replicate the finesse and experience.

I would love to have a resource such as this. Providing it would be something that could be viewed/done on ones own schedule, I do realize that isn't always the best teaching method though. To also be able to re-visit the information and go through it again would be a plus for me.
