Well this is more than a little disappointing

Post by GenBen »

I am on my third day of ownership of my 157b and have been having a great time playing dress up and taking photos. Today I decided to "consummate" our relationship with my favorite position doggy. I was very gentle with my new gal, was on a soft mattress with extra pillows under her knees. This was on the front of her knees when all was said and done. If this kind of mark is after one time on day 3 I shudder to think what she will look like on day 303. Doesn't look like the skin is cut, trying the hot wet towel fix I have read about, no luck so far.

Man, that sucks. I wonder if there was something in the TPE that was defective or something. I've had Anna Marie on her knees many times and she hasn't had any issues. Well... she has issues, but not those issues. :P

Hi sorry to see this, I've read that it's always advisable to actually place a pillow or two under the belly to take some of the weight off the knees. The problem is that the skeleton will dig into the tpe and although there is a bandage material wrapped around the joint its still quite sharp and the 157b doesn't have much meat on her. I've had my OR156H kneeling for photoshoots with no problems but she has much thicker legs but I wouldn't do it so readily with some of my skinnier gals. If I were you I wouldn't have her kneeling again unless you can support the weight with something under her belly other wise eventually you will get a poke through.

I think I know what went wrong and it's all my fault. She was wearing this lose weave fishnet outfit and I think it was like fishing line cutting into her. Note to self no more fishnet except for posing.

That may be it. But don't be too hard on yourself. In my experience there is a very real learning curve with dolls. And the damage doesn't really look too bad. I'm sure it can be repaired.

I certainly see how that outfit tempted you though. She looks damned good in it! :)

Well that's probably better than if the skeleton had caused the damage. Coincidentally I did a similar thing with my 157b. I had her in tight fishnet stockings and they left Criss cross marks in some places. They did eventually fade from her legs but some fish net gloves actually dug into the tpe on one of her hands during some hot weather (lesson learned!) and for that I had to use my hot air rework station to smooth the tpe. Don't worry as we all make mistakes, even when we've had dolls for a couple of years and should know better!

I have been in the rc hobby most of my adult life and have a heat gun I use to cover rc planes which requires fine control over heat, is that something I could use on my doll? Do you know of any videos to get me started?

I think this is also the reason.......

I myself have a 157 b-cup too.
I sometimes do it with my Timea doggie but she does not have any injuries afterwards because I take her off the clothes before I put her in position.
Extra pillows under her belly I can recommend you what Arthur already indicated, this divided the weight better and then rest not only on the knees and wrists.

Very valid points indeed. Especially for this doll.

. One vendor name kept coming up as being great at helping customers walk through the process, Booty Call Dolls. So I decided I would work with them on this first purchase, and did.

Additionally, I am sorry if your vendor never asked some questions that could have prevented this.
IMHO, those stockings are not the biggest reason why this happened.

Yes, if you are confident that you know what you are doing. I have no personal experience with this, but there is info about it on the forum if you do a search. Just be sure that the cure is not worse than the disease. Also the fumes will be toxic so a good mask and ventilation is something to consider.

And yep, my first doll took a few scars from newbie mistakes, it happens. If it's any consolation, they do become part of "who she is", and if you are anything like me it will only make her that much more endearing.

As someone mentioned, those joints can be rather pointed, and putting that much of a doll's weight on it is definitely something to avoid, so best to find ways of distributing the weight over a larger, soft surface.

All the best.

It's too bad they can't mix TPE with memory foam some how so compression marks will bounce back and fade quickly.
