Tips for standing a doll

Post by gyokuro »

I bought a 162e and I got the standing feet but I can't for the life of me to get it balanced safely at all. Are there any tips or is it actually just really hard to stand the doll?

I feel like it might be because of the extreme arch in the back but I also can't for the life of me get it to straighten out.

Although it is possible for a doll to stand unsupported it is not recommended unless you keep a constant eye on the doll - ready to catch her if she falls. Good advice is to always have a third point of contact like a hand, leg or other body party touching something for support.

With one of my previous dolls, I had her standing for a few minutes no problems, I walked all of about 1 metre away; by the time I realised she was going over it was already too late - managed to lunge and grab her arm to break her fall but then she wacked her head on a low wall - ouch. Lesson learned.

Lie her on her back and press down on her stomach(quickly and with some force)
That's how i straighten the back anyway
I then put the legs out straight and stand her up that way

Side note:I found the 162e stands and maintains balance a lot better than my 166c does

I have a 162E and my 1st few attempts were exactly like you described. Almost like balancing one marble on top of another. Sometimes I was able to do it but was too afraid to walk away. Then I did this;

Thanks to Dollicious2 and his explanation of standing in heels. Now Brandy has no problem standing bare feet, in flats or in heels. And I walk away confidently.

Hey man,

great posting. Thanks a lot for it.

Can you please tell me how thick the metal plate is? Also, is it still thin enough that you can bend it with your hands or do you already need a tool for it? Do you bend/adjust it at all for different shoes? :D

Thanks and greetings
MP
