Actually we've solved that problem (CC came up with an incredible easy solution-thanks Bro). The fingers at the knuckle will have four way movement so they will indeed spread apart ;-)
The previous images were working prototypes. At this time (prior to copyrighting) I'm not going to be posting images of the final prototypes.
Once the first surgery is completed, you'll see an announcement and a video of operation (actually a comparison to the wire fingers). I think our community will like what we've come up with and for those who can tackle a fairly easy surgery, this is going to be the tits (fingers, lol).
HYPE! Can't wait to see it, I'll be keeping an eye out for it!

This looks an excellent solution to the finger problems.
I've very interested in this project.
I look forward to seeing how it progresses.

Looking forward to this as well. Also await details on how to pull something like this off without too much damage to the doll.

I'll have to watch the videos to work out how "advanced" the surgery is, and if it looks doable, I'll definitely be up for a set! My Lynne's middle three fingers on both hands have gone floppy after only a month. Shame as I'm one of those that loves to hold hands (probably the reason why they've gone already), and posing her for photos is a real pain.

I am VERY interested in this. Both of Kat's hands need work and Janie's left hand is floppy.. I thought about Romex/thhn but with a ball of solder on the finger tip to prevent pokes.

I will try a complete kit when they are available. Put me on the list. I watched all the videos this looks very do able.

I am new to the doll community and have been lurking around TDF for a while. I will be ordering my lady with in the next 2 months from Jeff at BCD. I have been reading about all the different troubles with the fingers and Crazy Cajun's palm plate and Dollyman's fingers sounds the way to go. I will be looking forward to the final designs and a definite price

Pretty ridiculous when the owner has to find a way to fix the problem on their own.

This is an excellent improvement.
I'm watching this thread to see how the development progresses.
I'll certaining be thinking of getting hands like these when they become available.
Keep up the great work. :D

I would really like to know how the surgery goes, and a video of the new and improved hand would be awesome as well. Good luck keep us posted.

Y'know I'm all set to do the surgery and have been for weeks. I'm still reeling from the loss my project partner Crazy Cajun. I know he would want me to finish out the prototype work, but I just can't seem to get it in gear.
Jolene (and her floppy fingers) isn't very pleased with me about it. Zoey (being practically brand new) could care less. Of course once her fingers go to shit (seems WM dolls always do eventually), she'll sing a different tune, right?
I miss my friend.

I along with others, understand the feeling of losing CC. He was a pioneer in the doll world. The neck surgery he performed blew me away. He was bold and fierce, but mild and timid in the same breath. I look to his videos and posts often. As for the new finger design I think you have a great solution. I am really interested in the design and function. Makes me want to get involved in doing the surgery not only for my WM but for others as well. Maybe a new doll hospital is about to open, once I get my DollMD license. lol I am currently looking for a cheap or donor body to start disassembling and doing some reverse engineering, as well as get the feel for TPE and how to work efficiently with repairs. I do not want to perform surgery on my new 163. But please keep us posted, take a breath and know CC is always with us, and always will be. Have a good weekend.
