TPE storaging in cold temperature?

Post by October »

Hello!

I found some topics about cold versus TPE, but somehow I feel to start a new topic about this subject: Does anyone store their TPE doll in a cold place. With a cold place i mean minus degrees. I'm about to purchase a doll and cold place (at winter time) is the only place where I can store it. I have read vendors and manufacturers recommendations, but I think they don't give the right answer how cold affects TPE. I also found a topic where someone was testing this thing with small pieces of TPE in the freezer, but I am interested to hear every day experiences. Thanks!

a lot of people say that tpe can reach up to -40c and be fine. That's about when gasoline freezes.

I've had one of mine in a truck in Chicago last winter for a week, temps were near the negatives, she was fine.

My guess is the cold would make things less pliable so let the doll
warm up before preforming any joint bending or positioning

Thanks. I was also thinking that cold doesn't do any harm unless you try to move joints or bend or stretch TPE any other way while it's still cold.

Does not sound like anyone tested a doll in a freezer...like Dexter.

Used to hate that series. Now ? Wish we didn't watch it.

But, it would be fun to take pictures of such..weird things.

If I had the guts, I'd stuff her in the back seat permantly.

also, shoot pics of the doll in the trunk, then ask a friend to go get the football, and watch his face then... haha.

what is worse, about those temps, when it gets hot, does that vapour or damp make a problem with TPE ?

this lousy cheap fake doll has enough skin problems...

You could always order some TPE on ebay to experiment on. I purchased a 2.2lbs of TPE butt/vagina combo for under $20 to practice repairing tears and remolding.

The only problem with damp is flaming mold growth, on everything :)
