New member looking for info

Post by Makira1205 »

Hi, I'm someone who has never had a doll before and considering buying one. I'm afraid I might mess up something, Choosing options I might regret or permanently ruining my future doll due to lack of experience.

What are some tips or advices for choosing a doll and its options? How hard is it to maintain a doll? I saw people mentioning powder and lube and I'm very confused as I never used such things. What are my options if I mess up my future doll too much? do you send it to repair? is there such a thing?

I'm in Australia and I been looking for a vendor and so far I checked out Sex Doll Australia, are there any other recommendations for buying in Australia?

:D Welcome new member, here are some handy starters links for you too....

Newbies Welcome Page

Both SDA and JLTAUS/NZ are the two main TDF recognised AU based doll retailers. They are affiliated companies and if you are new to the hobby of Dolls, is a great alternative for an AU buyer to avoid the hassles and fees associated with importing goods over 1000 AUD into the country.

These two companies sort that all out for you and you pay all the duites up front as part of the included price, and you do not need to worry about ABF delaying your order or extortng additional import fees.

Once you know abit more about the hobby, doll sellers, makers and the associated import pitfalls, you can then start shopping around with the international sellers and retailers.

That said, even with my experience, I still need to go into battle with ABF from time to time, so for a first doll, SDA or JLT is a safe option, simply pick the doll you want, select the options, do the checkout and then Andy will be in touch keeping you up to date with the progress of your order and estimated delivery date.

Another option, is the for sale on TDF section where you can buy a local AU preowned, but in good condition (sometimes unused) doll, but you need to search through the listings for locations.

For Sale on TDF

Thank you for your help. I'm looking to buy a more expensive around 160cm height doll but I'm worried I might ruin it. I looked around and see the usual advice is to just get the one I want but I like to hear advices for what would be more suitable for a newbie?

The biggest mistake many newbies make is getting a doll that is too heavy for them. Lifting a doll is not like lifting barbells or a bag of cement... 35kg of doll feels a lot heavier than 35kg because of the weight distribution, dangling limbs, etc. So as you look for the doll of your dreams, you do need to consider weight. Not being able to easily maneuver your doll can be a real mood breaker.

Best of luck with your first purchase, and welcome to tdf!
