Hello from bewildered newbie in UK

Post by Klockwerk »

Hi

After months of looking, I think I'm ready to get my first doll.

This resource is brilliant!

I'm in the UK too - and am a recent (just over 2 weeks) doll owner myself.

This is a great community, and doll owning has been so much more than I had expected. Having so much fun!

Thanks everyone.

To be completely honest, dolls weren't new to me - have heard about them before. I remember looking at Realdolls years ago and was put off by the prices then. I was also married at the time but, that's another story for another day! :-)

I was looking to get a new toy from Lovehoney/Bondara and spotted that they have started stocking dolls. And that's what got me looking and researching.

Lovedolls is the site that I've spent most time on. Being on here has given me a load of other places to look as well so thanks all!

A few newbie questions initially though...

Fixed or insert vagina? My instinct would be to go for insert, purely for practical reasons, but I would be eager to get your thoughts on the subject.

Cost. While they have come down from the last time I looked at dolls, it's still a big investment. I noticed that there are pre-loved dolls for sale on the site. Most of them seems to be in the states but I must admit, I am tempted. Esp for my first purchse.

Thanks again

Klock

Hi Metricnut.

I was considering this doll from Lovedolls but think I may look around a bit more now that I've got here.

Hi Klockwerk,
I can recommend LoveDoll as I used them when I bought my girl Tiffany over a year ago now.

The prices look pretty good too as they have a sale on.
Might be worth emailing them to ask how long the sale lasts. They're pretty quick to answer emails.

Hey Klock - welcome :D

One of the biggest pieces of advice I would say is to go for something pretty light and manageable until you get used to handling your doll. It can be a bit of a mission to manoeuvre not only for the obvious reasons but also for cleaning once the fun is over. What am I saying? The fun is never over ;)

As for the insert or fixed vagina situation - there's pros and cons for both.
Some tend to like the insert more because it's easy to clean (or they need to be discreet around flatmates/girlfriends) Others love a good shower with their doll and a shower hose is very handy. The fitted vaginas are really popular especially with bigger guys but after years of use, some fitted vaginas can lose some of their former glory...whereas if that happens with an insert you can always buy a new insert - cheaper than a new doll......and we all know kegel exercises or Ben Wa balls won't help. :0

Best of luck! :glou:

Thanks Stu,

Much appreciated advice. I did think I'd look at all the different options and vendors and was going to sleep on the decision ... until your reply and now looking at your site!

Hi and welcome to the forum, the community here is really supportive and you'll be able to ask any questions you have about dolls. It's always good to find another member in the UK, so don't worry about going it alone were here to help.
