Malware?

Post by ColColt »

I'm getting a lot of malware warnings popups from Malewarebytes each time I try to access WM's website, the WM forum or RLSD...anyone else?

Sounds like you either have a bad BHO (Use HijackThis to fix...but be very very careful with it..feel free to pm me the log once you have run it if you like before doing anything) or you have a general virus infecting your browser.

All the sites you mentioned are fine for me.

I would also be curious to know what other virus/malware software you run (many cause conflicts with each other) and how often you run sweeps etc.

I use Malwarebytes too. No issues with WM's site to date.

It just started out of the blue. I don't use any other virus/malware software but Malwarebytes. I use to have Avast but it redundant keeping it and Malwarebytes and used a lot of CPU so I deleted it several months ago. I only use Windows Firewall and have for ages plus I connect to the Internet via a router.

I ran a scan with MWB after the popups but nothing turned up. When the popup first hit I was on RLSD website and 6Ye. I got some 20 hits as Maleware in a short time frame as you can see in the attachment. I think WMB just went nuts.

What browser are you using Firefox? try Chrome, I use Malwarebytes as well with Chrome but have not visited those sites, just tried RLSD nothing came up on the page after entering.

I use the Opera browser generally in incognito mode. No issues to date with Malwarebytes blocking WM sites. That's the only malware software I use as well.

I've been using Firefox for ages...maybe 18 years. Malewarebytes just went haywire I guess for some reason.

That link is a bug report from 22 hours ago. Some people had the same problem. The solution is simple, update Malewarebytes.
