Posting a smaller picture in a thread.
Posting a smaller picture in a thread.
In CoverDoll it is easy because of a facility there where you can specify the size.
So, the question is:
How can I resize a photo from my TDF doll album to a post?
Currently the only way I know how to post a photo is to:
1. Right click the photo and copy image address.
2. Click Img button.
3. Paste image address.
4. Click Img button again.
This gives the image size in the doll album - which I upload at max 680 but sometimes even this is too big, particularly if I want to include multiple pictures.
Perhaps resizing cannot be done in TDF doll album to TDF posting?
Love to hear from someone 'in the know'.

The size can be chosen by which image that you choose the address of. The top photo is the thumbnail, click on that, you get the middle one. Click again and you get the full sized image.

When you upload a pic to the album, it automatically makes a thumbnail version and could also make a medium sized version(if the original is large).
So when you are viewing the version you would like to post (s,m,l) just right click to grab it's location.
I find it useful to post the med size version with a link to the large one in the album.
Code: Select all
<a> <img src="http://www.dollalbum.com/dollgallery/albums/userpics/10112/fifth.jpg" width="300"> </img>
</a>
<a> <img src="http://www.dollalbum.com/dollgallery/al ... /fifth.jpg" width="300"> </img>
</a>
Code: Select all
<a><img src="http://www.dollalbum.com/dollgallery/albums/userpics/10112/fifth.jpg" height="200"> </img>
</a>
<a><img src="http://www.dollalbum.com/dollgallery/al ... /fifth.jpg" height="200"> </img>
</a>
You copy your link and paste it into the src parameter and use either the width or the height parameter to set the size you want - in the examples above I have used first width=300 next height=200
That's really neat. Using HTML let's you fine tune how your posts show up.
The drawback I can see to doing it that way, is that even though you are only displaying a small pic everyone still has to download the large version, then the browser shrinks it.(but I may be wrong )
To be kind to members on dial-up, using as small files as possible would be best.

Excellent point. Alot of digital cameras are defaulted to a hi-resolution photo thus producing a larger file. You can use the program, such as Microsoft Office Picture Manager or Paint to shrink the picture so that it's web friendly. The file size also is reduced.sactojoe wrote:To be kind to members on dial-up, using as small files as possible would be best.
