Post by Mr G »

OMG I just accidentally deleted an entire Phoebe's album! :crying: Stupid me! Is there way to restore it. Or I have to upload everything all over again...

Thanks!

Ouch, that's too bad :(

We do have backups, but that's the database. I'm afraid we can't restore just one album.
I'll have to check with AlexKnight as he knows all about the doll album.

No problem Nes, thanks. I got home from night shift in the morning and instead of going to bed I started fooling with an album with predictable end result

Sadly, there's no way to restore the album after it has been deleted. You will indeed have to re-upload the pics.

The part of this thread that I like is that Mr G deleted the album by accident and not intentionally. :)

It's pleasing to know that the album will be rebuilt.
笑. It's good for you.

I definitely would rebuild it, Obin

This morning was just a disaster. I started uploading her railway pictures and found out that yesterday I did not save a .psd file for the main picture in series. Hours of work down the drain (only low-res jpeg left). Wanted to delete that low-res image from album, but trashed the album instead :drinking:

I was on a website where a Mod accidently deleted an entire forum section! Comparable to TDF would be like if the entire Ruby13 section was gone. We had to start all over. There was no way to restore it.

Now that's just asinine. No backups at all? On the sites I run, backups are done nightly. Might lose a few hours worth of posts if a restore is necessary, but nothing is gone for good in the event of a catastrophe.

As Nescio mentioned, we do have backups, so if something bad like removing an entire forum section would happen, we could always restore the backup, and lose only the posts that were made between the time it happened and the time the backup was created.

If you can give me one of the filenames of a pic in the deleted album, I can most likely find the actual files.
How many pics are we talking here? Not sure if I can copy the backed up database to another server, and fire it up, and extract the album from there, then try to import it. Probably better not to mess with importing into database directly, but MIGHT be able to get descriptions. Images would be easier, as they arnt stored in the database, just on the filesystem...

Hi Phreddie, that is so kind of you. I had probably around 60-70 images. Profile says 205 Meg. But I would also not mess with SQL. Just a few latest file names BlueDress1.jpg, BlueDress2.jpg BlueDress3.jpg

Thanks
