manobon wrote:Hi! I've owned a Sanhui 160 cm doll for a little over a month now, and I really want to do one thing - remove the legs to convert it into a torso.

Obviously, this goes against every warranty/suggestion that a vendor would make (understandably) - but the legs really do get in the way of certain positions for me, and they don't "add" anything to my experience (i.e., I'm not using the doll for modeling/photography purposes). The arms definitely add to the sleeping/spooning experience, so I don't want to remove Those.

Anyway, I'm looking for advice on this 'surgery' - I think I would need the following items, after finding a thread regarding repairs:

Pure Acetone for prep/cleanup of sealed points/excess adhesive

Sil-Poxy Silicone Adhesive for sealing, post-cutting

Latex free, Nitrile gloves for handling/everything

X-Acto knife for cutting through the silicone

Tongue Depressors to apply the Sil-Poxy

'Fiber Free Cloth' - does that just mean those micro-fiber glass cleaning cloths?

Annd not sure what else - especially regarding removing the legs from the joints, and if that 'space' will need to be replaced.

Attached are my general ideas for cutting sites
Thanks for reading!
Just go in and loosen the hip joints. Just be aware of over extending her after you have done this, this might tare.

Hi there,

I wouldn't cut her up neither. Ask the manufacturer if they will build you a torso doll instead. Sell the 160 to get the funds for the torso. This way two can get happy...

just my 2 cents.

I'm going to guess that, as a lady, you have a better idea of what the OP wants.

Of course, we all want to save her sexy legs and have demonstrated that by every comment that discourages his cutting her up. :) I'm not helping either.

I love me a fine set of feminine legs as much as the next gentleman, but I gotta say manobon's idea for a legless but not armless torso doll intrigues me.
Even now, a setup like that is hard to find in all the doll world. There's only one other torso like that I know, and it's one of 1am's offerings.

Greetings.

When I came here yesterday and no one had commented yet, I just said to myself "Nah", shook my head and went on reading other posts.

After all the pleading and well meant suggestions you seem to be still slightly interested in this.
Well then - unless you are an expert in handling the form making for and pouring of Platinum cured Silicon you will ruin your doll and end up at a stage where she is either unusable or at least significantly less usable than right now.
You can go make incisions, you will be able to detach the thigh bones from the hip - and if you are crafty and lucky up to here she will still look somewhat ok.
Now you'd need to do the actual amputation and even if you had a guillotine the cut would not be plan and most importantly: it is open, since you still have those bones and their wrappings to remove, leaving nasty holes.
So now you have rugged, ugly stumps with jagged holes in them.
This is where your silicone expertise - or lack thereof - comes into play.
You will need to create forms that will allow you to seal those stumps into the clean plates you see on torso dolls and then you will need to mix some silicone, give it a somewhat close coloring and pour it into the desired end plates.

Here is a lot to read from someone who is an expert in the field and did something similarly ambitious:

If you actually go on and do it then I guess you no longer need the legs, I then would likely pay for the transport to acquire them, depending on whats left of them.

Kind regards.

Yes the internal skeleton probably made up of threaded steel rods will have to be dealt with once the silicone or TPE is removed, the final result will probably not be appealing, and possibly dangerous to the user :eeek:

I agree with most here, I don't think this operation would turn out well. I'd definitely ask the manufacturer if they can build one without legs, and if so, then sell the fully intact doll to make up the cost.

Very interesting.... I'd like to see if this works. I hope Sanhui was being overly cautious and that a little more range of motion won't rip her. But I'd like to see someone else try this first.

Dolls are for more than sex, my friend. If you don't realize that yet, you will. You gotta think long term here, and not act out of frustration for a perceived problem right now. Right? Because what if you regret it later....then the doll is ruined. And no one will buy it when you try to resell it. You always gotta consider all the possibilities.

100% the same opinion :glou:

To add my 2 cents....

I agree with the majority that you should keep her intact.
At the very least; Give it a few more weeks or at least several more attempts in becoming familiar with her anatomy and the little quirks of the gurl.

If that doesn't work adopt her out to someone that will appreciate her in her "whole" intended glory. You will likely be able to cut even between the sale and a purchase of an acceptable torso. You can even just keep the DS head if you like to go with the new torso.

As much as a legman as I am, I couldn't imagine taking such measures just for easier access. 8O

I think it's too late to save his doll. However, he's caught wind of the torso.

Still ...!
