My vote goes to #1, hands-down.

Her face is close enough for it to look like an adorable selfie, and the positioning lends to a more natural look, whereas #5 is zoomed a tad more out and isn't as adorable.

They can be brought in closer just by cropping the photo out more. They aren't completely cropped & resized for Avatar purposes yet. These are samples.

Elfy ears are winning my heart. Think #4 is gonna be a keeper.
