WHAT IS THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BUILT IN AND INSERT?

Post by Booty Call Dolls »

How would you answer or expand on my answer?
This is one of the biggest decisions doll owners have to make for sure.
Does one feel better than the other?
Actually, that can vary from doll to doll.
If going built in, you need to know about increased chance of ball issues.

When dolls are made, a tpe ball separates the inside of the doll from the outside. It is at the end of the vaginal cavity It is glued in and if it is compromised water can get inside the doll.
Think of a rubber stopper in your bathtub. If there is a cut or it is not there, what will water do in your tub?
Some people wear condoms, others with draw so cleaning is less.

I normally ask people if they are going to wear a condom or withdraw.
I am not saying anything bad will happen, there is obviously an increased chance due to cleaning protocol.

PROS of built in
Looks
No missing
Do not have to deal with insert in/out

PROS of insert
Can mod insert with rubber bands ect.....
easier to clean than moving a heavy doll ( some people have come up with good ways to clean built in )

Below is from our newly wed guide

If your doll has a built in vagina then it is trickier to clean but you will need an aquarium pump to air the cavity out completely.
We will discuss pointers to dry and disinfect.

To dry, we suggest using tampons, one for the mouth and 2 for the vagina (behind each other) and 2 for the anus opening (behind each other).
Tampons are much easier to insert, soaking off the moisture, do not produce fluffs and can be easily removed with the strip.
Also after sex, insert 2 tampons in her vagina / anus.
The tampons are soaking off most of the sperm-lube mixture.
That allows you to move the doll without the fear that something drops out.
Or you are using that method for having a relaxed time after sex and the tampons are doing the most work for you itself.
Remove the tampons after 30 minutes.
Afterwards the cleaning is very easy.

To disinfect, you can spray some hydrogen peroxide 3% on 2 tampons.
Insert it in the dried vagina / anus and let it there for 30 minutes.
Remove it. Do this once per week.
Hydrogen peroxide 3% is a sperm killer.
Never use alcohol, it causes micro-cuts inside the TPE structure and in addition it makes all TPE blends dry, brittle and cracked. Do not use toy cleaners, disinfection sprays, disinfection soap, etc.
Hydrogen peroxide 3% is the most effective disinfection method.

Sorry Jeff, but couldn't disagree more with some of what & how you are instructing owners to care for their TPE built in dolls.

My opinion and recommendations are to never use a tampon in a doll. They can tear and pull away at the interior of the orifice inserted and will leave pieces of themselves behind to mold cause problems.

A good foaming toy wash rinsed with clean water will keep your doll clean. No need to overthink things, it doesn't have to be a big production. 22 years of experience and zero issues or problems. Not to say I never experienced any, that is why I recommend what I do.

Keeping it clean is actually quite easy ...

If the tampon is sufficiently wet before removal, then it should just slide out. I rinse my dolls with a water pump in a plastic fish bowl so the cavities are thoroughly lubricated before removal.

The pro of fixed vaginas that I have seen so far is the realism. If my dolls were insert, I might not feel like I'm having sex with a real woman due to the knowledge of what it is. Also, it looks more natural so in turn it is more attractive.

This is something I've been thinking of asking about for some time now. That is if many people choose built-in, not just because it feels better (I think Piperdoll's insert doesn't feel worse than their built-in), but also because having to mess around with the insert breaks the immersion in the fantasy of being with a real woman.

For me this is not a problem because I don't create a fantasy that could be broken by having to mess with the insert, but it occurred to me one day when I was taking it out that there'd be no way to include that in the fantasy if I was trying to pretend that she's a real woman.

If something goes wrong with a built-in (mold, tears, etc.) you're stuck with it. If something goes wrong with an insert, you're only ever $30 away from a new one. It seems like built-in is only suitable for silicon or dolls bought strictly for photography/company.

Why is it a bad idea to use toy cleaner?

They will likely contain chemicals that TPE won't like. So, if you want to use something like that, make sure it doesn't have something that's harmful to your doll.
Silicone is more forgiving in this way, as it's got no problem with alcohol, for instance, but it's a good idea to be careful with that too.

Yes but I'm just thinking that toy cleaner are meant to use on fleshlights etc, and aren't those made of some type of tpe material?

Yes, they're mostly TPE, but also, they're cheap stuff that's not expected to last long anyway, so the toy cleaner companies don't really have the incentive to make
a product that maximizes the life span because most people aren't going to notice as long as it takes quite a few uses before the toy is ruined by the cleaner agent.

In other words, you really can't trust that they have properly formulated (and tested) that stuff in terms of not harming TPE.

I would recommend going with a fixed vagina for the reasons stated in my previous post. It's also not too hard to clean a doll with a fixed vagina. A water pump in a container with soapy antibacterial water to flush out lube+body fluids and then an air mattress pump to dry should be enough.

This all depends on how thoroughly you clean/dry your doll. Tears can be fixed with a soldering iron or some other method that doesn't create sharp edges like TPE glue does.
