Hi Mark, welcome to the forum.

Silicone is harder and more realistic details can be sculpted. Its more resistant to heat and basically you pay for durability and craftsmanship. Usually most expensive dolls are silicone.

TPE is softer and thus more delicate and prone to damage but it feels soft like real human skin. You can get a TPE doll for less than a high end silicone doll but due to its softness not many details can be sculpted. Its not very resistant to heat either. Unlike silicone, TPE gets easily stained with dark fabrics, that's why i chose a darker skin tone to alleviate this issue. Most stains go away over time because TPE "sweats" oil residue so the stains get "pushed away" from the skin. Because of this you cannot paint on TPE like you can for example get tan lines painted on silicone

I was able to stain her lips with Sinful Colors Lip Liner pencil from Walmart.
Lipstick is a waste of time because it wipes right off TPE. The lip liner wont be permanent but lipstick leaves red lip marks on your pillow every time you turn her over and then *poof* lipstick is gone.

It comes in different colors so thats how i painted the mole over her lips and other accents . it hasnt come off yet since i bought her a few days ago
