Not sure why they couldn't have made the plush part of the head smaller so the face would set back 2 inches or so. Looks like they attached the face to the full dimension head.

I assume the complete head is removable?
Maybe someone will come up w/a complete silicone head someday.

This looks more like the mask - concept that some Japanese dollmakers have. They have no face, faces are masks actually. Not the worst thing to do if you ask me. And saves on a lot of weight if the major part is still plush and fill-stuff and not silicone/TPE. Otherwise the doll would be pretty unbalanced.

When I refer to having a full silicone head, I mean the skin only. The skin could be 1/4 - 3/8" thick, but have a foam core.

I'm still very happy w/t innovations.

I don't check on here for a few weeks and the whole world goes crazy. 7 new Deluxes!?! A whole new kind of Teddy Babe!?!?!?!?! Wow, there's a lot going on! This is really exciting!

I think the new Ultras are a great move from a business perspective. I can't tell you over the years how many times someone has made a thread on this forum how they're thinking they want a doll and say that cuddling and companionship is important to them, I chime in and recommend a Teddy Babe, and they say they don't like the unrealistic cartoony face.

Now personally, I am sooooooooo attached to my Teddy Babe that I love her unrealistic face and couldn't imagine her any other way, but I think it's great to have options. I have no idea if I can see past my bias, and if I were getting a Teddy Babe for the first time today, I don't know what I would pick, but I wonder if I might not have tried an ultra. And as others have pointed out, the new additions to the deluxe line is a pretty clear indicator the Ultras haven't come to replace, but to join the party.

Once again, I'm probably heavily biased, but I think the price is pretty reasonable as well. Even if you can start finding TPE dolls around that price, I don't think TPE dolls are straight up superior (if I did I'd have one). The light weight, the easy maintenance, the durability, the longevity, and, let's not forget the cuddlability! There's a lot of perks there. If I had to I would pay more for the Teddy Babe. Probably a ridiculous sum if absolutely necessary, haha. At the risk of repeating myself though, that's probably because I'm so attached to Audrey that I can't imagine trying to go through life without a Teddy Babe.

Anyway, I think these new Teddy Babes are pretty amazing and I hope they're a big hit.

Thank you for a superb review!!! Did you ask Dave about the earring in Silicone issue. I would be afraid about this too. Surely, other manufacturers allow earrings in Sillicone ears.

Also, I used safety pins to attach wigs at the front. This is now not possible. Do you tape to the Sillicone head?

Thank you, gents! Nice to know my review was helpful. It was wordy I know. I wanted to make sure I covered all my thoughts cause I never did one before. SuperNothing asked about any kind of temperature difference between my Athena's (Sheba's) face and body. No not really. When lying with her in bed (I'm doing that right now in fact) she's just like a TBD but with cool / realistic lips to kiss.

If they ever made a TBU with a head that had more of the looks of, say, the TBD models Akiko, Audrey, Pam/Amber, or Bianca, I'd have to seriously point my guy in that direction.

I second this, even after owning my TBD for quite some time her breasts are still very hard...I simply couldn't be bothered with the weight/maintenance of a full silicone/tpe doll and combined with the other features of the ultra I think this would really give people like me the best of both worlds.

That said, I think all of the new additions are great. The new TBDs are all really cute and I'm blown away by how amazing the Cordelia horror model looks! The Cadavera one is kinda weird but then my girlfriend is made of plush so who am I to judge?

While it is good to see 8th Wonder do some new things, I don't like the silicone face on the plush body. While I'm game for a good BJ like the next guy, the Ultra is a hard pass for me. Personal preference is what it is. Though like a few others I'll probably be ordering the new insert when I can.

Now seeing the new Deluxe's makes me wish they were available earlier as I might have chosen differently back in March. (Don't tell Rhonda! ) Of the new TBD's I like the looks of Terri, Amber, and Cordelia. While Elsa also looks nice, she looks a little too much like one of my housenates which makes me feel a little dirty. Unfortunately Natasha looks like she just got staked from behind, in a not friendly way. And while I find the idea of Cadavra amusing, she's also a little creepy in the "I fuck dead people" sort of way.

Still while I'm not greatly impressed, it is good to see 8W trying to do more things.

Unfortunately with the path into Ultra, I'm inclined to think we won't see any new Standard models any time soon. Which is sad as I'd really like my next TB (budget willing) to be a smaller Standard model.

One thing that I did notice, which isn’t really a criticism but may be an issue for some folks on here is that the new TBU pussy is kind of loose if you just hold it in your hand. But when you put it inside a TB, it gets pressed together and becomes nice and tight, since I guess that’s what it’s made for.

But if one wants a looser feel, do you think it is possible to expand the cavity for the insert a bit?

That may well be the case, but you never know. I certainly didn't expect the recent massive addition to their lineup, including a whole new kind of Teddy Babe. I hadn't checked around on here for awhile, then one day I find out there's a whole bunch of new Teddy Babes.

While I have no reason to expect it's coming, I wouldn't be surprised to see standards come back one day out of the blue. Probably even with some changes (perhaps the deluxe grade plush, toes, better defined butt cheeks, who knows?).

Like I said, I don't have any inside info or anything, but when they were discontinued I remember hearing implications that they were going to bring them back; and if they were coming back all along I don't see why they'd discontinue them in the first place unless they were making some upgrades.

Together with the Ultras there were like 6 or 7 new TBD's released. And many of us (TBD, TBS owners) made it clear that the Ultra's are not our cup of plush doll tea. Rest assured discontinuing TBDs would be like shooting in 8th Wonders own knee. I don't think this will happen. If I buy another TB it will most likely be a TBD Lauren (Lisa's little sister).
