They (used to) use these to hold on all kinds of mechanical items that had to be removed and reinstalled/replaced repeatedly... boat trailer wheel bearings, for example. They can’t be that weak, lol. Of course you’ve got to spread the ends and wrap around the end... ok never mind, moot point.
I am considering a Teddy Babe... apparently they are keepers if people are talking 7 or 8 years of having them.
The complaints are more about a quality control problem than about a design failure. We Teddy Babe lovers are complaining on a very high level, if I look at the chaps with "dolls of other material" who report failures after some weeks or months it makes me cringe.
I have a new TBD which I bought in early 2013 which has no problems whatsoever beside slight latex lips decay (another typical problem) and a "3rd hand" TBD which is probably more than 8 years old which had the "wire skeleton duct tape failed" problem some months after I bought her on the sales section on this forum. As I fixed that I gave her a more realistic skeleton using heavy duty wire and plastic tubes to simulate bones and ankles in her legs and feet.
Teddy Babes are very solid and sturdy. If things break after some years you can fix them easily (needlework and simple mechanics). I fully expect the Babes to last more than a decade with occasional minor repairs which are easy to do.

Well as for the look of the Babes, I’m sold! And I get what you’re saying... Im looking for good quality for my money, and a nice cuddly doll to boot! I think I’m in. Just have to decide what one grabs my attention. I think I’ve narrowed it to 3... maybe 4.

Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"Hey, is there room in your head for one more?"
I seem to recall- actually it was before my time but I remember it getting brought up again years later- that way back in the day Teddy Babes had a contract with a porn star or something to make an exclusive doll. Amy something? I think? I don't remember, but I do remember seeing "Marilyn" before for sure. That big smile is distinctive, as well as the first two pictures with her hair up.
I don't think anyone knew for sure what happened, and it's certain they put out a promo ad for it, but as far as I know they never actually made any for sale. Maybe some kind of dispute or something? I suppose now it's been long enough where any contractual obligation is over, so Marilyn is now available.
It's been awhile since there's been a new Teddy Babe; it would be fun to see someone get her. She looks quite happy and friendly!
I love the look of the new Marilyn Model. I've been fixated on a Sabrina from the first time that I saw the Teddy Babes website, but the Marilyn Model is quite fetching.
