Differences between joint tightness

Post by Xelos »

I've been wondering what the practical difference is between normal and tight joints. Is tight required if I want any kind of standing? Or can I get away with normal for poses. I'm a big fan of the idea of doing photo shoots with my eventual lady, but fear the hassle of constantly wrestling incredibly tight joints (Especially when it comes to intimate time).

Normal joints are good enough for standing and posing. Unless your have special need, we don't recommend tight joints.

Why don't you not recommend the tight joint...I thought from what I have read that you need the tight joint for standing and for posing?

cruz13,
Normal joints will work just fine.
Please remember a couple things for standing since these dolls knees are not like any other dolls.
First, we suggests a 3rd point of contact.
Second, make sure her legs are straight.

Hmm I don't have a 6Ye doll yet but on my doll her legs must not be straight when she is standing for a pose.
I much prefer she not have to have her legs perfectly straight while standing but I do admit most times she does so as bending one or both knees puts extra pressure on the knee joints and should not be done very often or for very long periods of time , say days on end but can be done for a few hours or maybe a day or two tops.

Seeing the 6Ye have different joints i would most likely elect the tighter joint option as my girls & I like doing it standing a lot too.

My 6Ye doll has normal joints and I am able to stand the doll easily with a 3rd contact point. I personally think normal joints should be ok when standing a 6Ye doll. However it would be nice to know if anyone has opted for tight joints on their 6Ye doll and to give their observations on the tight joints?

Dollicious2,
I agree with you.
I am basing my thoughts on real world experience with my 6ye dolls so getting tight knee joints only would be a good option.

Differences between joint tightness

It would seem that the tight jjoint option would be better,I would think posing would last longer, I read post were they said their doll would not hold a pose ... Am I wrong, I don't have adoll yet..still waiting..she should be her sometime this week

Good timing for this thread, because I had a weird thought the other day about joint tightness.

Could you get a doll with normal joints for some, let's say arms and torso, but loose for others, let's say below the waist? (for a doll that wouldn't be stood up/ w/o standing feet)? Or would that request be too much of a pain?

I don’t see why not; just specify your needs and they should kindly oblige you since dolls are all made to order.
I do recommend the standing feet though, but I see your reasons for wanting it that way.

Cheers

Hi, I'm curious if this is referring to ball joints. Can ball joints be tightened (or loosened) after manufacture?

Thanks!
