Coconut oil ? (Instead of Mineral Oil)
Coconut oil ? (Instead of Mineral Oil)
I have found a LOT of discussion on conditioning the TPE material (whether 6Ye or other) with mineral oil, nivea creme, vaseline, etc.
As one of my goals is for my mouth parts to get friendly with her lady parts (lips, boobies, others, etc ), the idea of a mouth full of mineral oil doesn't appeal much. Apparently vegetable oil(s) are a no-no for TPE. Any discussion on COCONUT oil ? (assuming of course that I can gently warm & melt it). Or are ALL plant-based oils off limits ?
Thanks for any feedback !
Hope to post pics at an opportune time .....

Just clean it all off afterwards, with all the other mess you've just created

I second that dont apply to the doll anything food based, sugars etc could get into the doll. I do like the smell of the old suntan lotions mixed with the visuals of a pretty girl in a bikini when i was in my 20's & 30's not sure if they still smell the same way today. Anyway my thought would be put the scent/product on a towel & have it in the room with you & your doll.Mr Franz wrote:Don't do it! Food based oils will get rancid in a relatively short time.... BTW, the only way you'll get a mouthful of mineral oil is if you don't wait for it to be absorbed into the TPE, which only takes a few hours.

Works great to clean the doll as well.

Much regards.

Now, with that said I cannot recommend it on a doll as I have no experience with that combo. But out of all food oils I think coconut oil has the best chances.

Have had a jar in the cupboard for several years. It is not moldy or bad. It is pure. it was expensive stuff I remember. Cannot even remember what I bought it for. It is fatty if one has a steady diet of it. Any oil is.Sofos wrote:Actually pure high quality coconut oil is both to some degree antibacterial, antifungal and does not get rancid. Or at least it takes years. Which makes it excellent to use as treatment for your wooden cutting board!

But before reading through this brief thread... guess what I did?? LOL... it applies so much easier than baby oil, and I used at most a tablespoon to cover her whole front... TPE sucked that up in 20 minutes, the sheen was gone.... I wiped excess off with paper towels. UGH!! definitely oil baths lift the grime. Towels were not filthy, but was a fair amount of dirt.
The baby oil I have I do not like it.
But was impressed at least how little I used to cover her... I'll guess I'll find out whether she gets up and walks away on her own.... LOL
Back when I started a computer hobby in the early 90's I thought they were a pain in the ass.... dolls got them beat

Now, honey is the ultimate antibacterial, used as a minor ingredient in a water-based warming lube, but I seriously doubt that anything can happen to pure coconut oil. It is recommended to rub into your hair and skin, and swish for a fresh mouth, just don't eat a lot of it or pour it down the sink when liquified. And it does melt annoyingly in summer and become brittle and flakey in winter, but works great in almost every other way. Regardless of the health discussion, it is a very stable product and almost tasteless and crystal clear. Stains on fabric, resulting from drips or sprayed shavings, however, are hard to clean.
Clarity of Q+A regarding whether something is or is not good for this or that is driving me CRAZY on this forum, I've got to say, WE CAN DO BETTER, yes? Would someone please take a sample or samples of TPE or whatever and apply some science to compare the effects of A+B if there is a repair or otherwise random sample of material available, maybe to be destructively tested for degradation after an interval? It would be useful to know how much Vaseline and Nivea cream affect durability without risking our dolls. I am very much interested of the feasibility of coconut rather than mineral oil. But if the mineral oil (which is also in some foods such as gummy bears) is food grade, it should be fine to ingest in small quantities. I don't think I've seen it for sale at retail, only medical grade, which is available at different viscosities, and I wouldn't eat that. What is that wonderful edible lubricant I've seen pornstars use? Anyone know if it is for sale in bulk or just homemade goop? If that is shelf stable... The one I tried once made me violently ill for a short time, so I would really like to find a safe one, since we're talking turkey here. So if anyone can run an experiment, I'm fresh out. Thanks and Cheers!
