Rofl, that's a bad habbit of mine. When I get into something like a new hobby, I go through this period of trying to obtain the right result. And if the first time, second time, third time I'm not quite getting what I have in mind, I keep at it very stubbornly- and that applied to dolls.

Oh yeah, I been through that phase with any hobby I started. You really dive in and go nuts. I did that with Tube radio collecting, turntables, reel to reel tape decks. I did that until I found the ones I really liked and then I just ended up selling off the rest. Still with love dolls, that is a pretty expensive way to go, but I hear you. Sometimes you just want to see what is out there and find out what is truly best for you.

With dolls in general, I don't think I am at that stage yet, or would ever get there just because of the cost v.s. longevity issue. When I got into this, naturally I was all gung-ho over the new TPE material and it was cheaper than silicon and felt more realistic. But then I was reading up on the longevity of about 5 to 7 years...IF well taken care of and I didn't like that. I also didn't like all the maintenance involved with the oiling and such. So that was a big damper on TPE. Silicon was next up and with it's stronger design and slightly longevity, it seemed like a better buy. But despite being overall better, there were still some issues...namely the weight. The ice cold skin. So that was when I was turned on to the fabric dolls. Overall, that seemed to be the way to go with me. The Happy Dolls were SO close. But as you and I found out...there is a problem with the skeleton. BUT while Eryka was slowly becoming less and less a 'modeling' doll for photography, she's a good cuddling doll and love making doll. The Ex-lite seems to be the other way around. But I think for the price of one decent silicone doll, I could have two dolls. I think you were in that situation too and you bought the Dagmar and the Textile doll.

It is funny that the first fabric doll I came across were the Teddy Babes...but they didn't grab me. The next fabric doll I looked at was Textile Doll. The bodies were MUCH better than the Teddy Babes, but I didn't like those plastic heads! That is something that always bothered me about them. Finally I was tipped off on the Happy Dolls and while they were mostly aimed at anime fans, there was the silicone head option. BUT there were its problems too.

The Exlite is more realistic looking, and the lightest doll yet. But the PU foam has it's issues. Such as the seam and the wrinkles. However, I see that gdy67 managed to make the best of it and with careful use of the right clothes, the doll photographs VERY well. Now if there was a way to fix the 'sex' issue. One unique thing I saw in a YouTube video is that a fellow actually uses the feet to have sex with the doll. I thought that was very interesting. He brings the dolls legs around,so the feet are facing each other and he puts himself between the feet's arches and goes at it. So that was an interesting way around the sex problem with that doll. Supposedly direct sex is possible with the Ex-lite, but the positions are VERY limited as you cannot spread both legs fully apart. You have to go from behind with the legs spread very little, or go with a position that facilitates one leg up and one down ('L' shape).

So all in all, I just think there are too many caveats in each category. There is something that dis-satisfies me with just about every doll I came across. So far the Dagmar is still the closest to achieving what I want. I am interested in the Exlite, mainly because of it's looks and the price point. But I am going to say that unless I see something dramatically change...perhaps an improved fabric doll that has more details, I am not going to invest in something that is very expensive.

Yes, this is the big downfall of TPE and Silicone. You have to warm up the outside, you have to warm up the inside. You have to make sure if you warm up the outside that you use a good heating blanket that isn't going to overheat and damage the doll.

I remember climbing into bed with Eryka when she had been laying all day in it and initially she is pretty cold too. But because she's fabric, she warmed up very fast. I put the insert in warm water (in a plastic bag) or I put it under my arm to warm it up.

It just seems that fabric is just so much easier to take care of and also warm up. If Happy Dolls just improved the quality of the skeleton and offered more head choices, they would have a killer product on their hands!

That's what I don't understand about these doll makers. So many of them miss the mark by such a tiny bit- if they'd only listen to consumers and make those tiny changes, they'd have perfect products. It's almost like they'd handicapping them selves on purpose lol.
Happy Dolls and Textile are two examples of that. Both just missing the mark by a small step, and it's not rocket sience to fix those things.

And then the finger wire issue with most TPE dolls, same thing, it's not rocket science to make those work, and yet, 10 years later we're still seeing the exact same issues.

Yes, I agree. In the case of Happy Dolls, they need to improve the skeleton.

Textile dolls needs to get into silicon heads.

BOTH need to offer more head options. These are really minor things that could improve sales for both doll makers.

As for the issues with the fingers on TPE / Silicon dolls and that horrible goose neck the WM Dolls have....those are issues that should have been addressed a long time ago. I have to say that when it comes to a well constructed TPE Doll, the 6YE dolls have a VERY impressive ball jointed skeleton and they addressed the finger poke through issue. They are a good price, but they don't have as many head options as WM does. But they are getting better in that area. But again, for me, once totally gung-ho on TPE, I don't even consider it now. It is the short longevity and the high maintenance that turned me off on them. I really have not found a total win win situation with any doll. So far weighing everything out, I realized that my decision to go with Happy Dolls was not a bad one. It really was a doll that came so close. Textile Doll isn't far off either. Both of these companies just need to make a few tweaks and they could be the go-to for an inexpensive to moderate priced doll that doesn't have the headaches or high price as silicone and TPE dolls have.

Really? You started seeing cracks in her skin after only 2 months and with oiling? That is ridiculous. Given the amount of money someone spends on these dolls, you would figure they would last much longer. That is why, between silicone and tpe, I would rather go with silicone. But even then, some of them have issues with finger poke through. With silicone, so far the strongest contender is DS-Dolls because they have a great skeleton. But they are expensive. But I guess if you get 10+years out of one, that's good. I just don't have that much to initially lay out.

Ahhh, yeah. Well, you probably know now to watch that site. You really don't know what you are getting with them. I was worried about that too and I did a TON of research to make sure which manufacturers were reputable. How long did you have her? Does she still see regular use? How is the cracking issue now?

I noticed that with Eryka's insert...the original one she came with, that gouges were appearing on the surface right after the first month. With the Venus Clone insert that I bought, I can tell right off the bat that the TPE they used is MUCH better than the insert that came with the doll. I would say that I been using the insert for a few months now, but only about 2 or 3 times a month. There is no flaking or peeling or gouges showing up. So my guess is that your Stephanie is probably made from a better quality TPE than Riza is. How long you have Stephanie now? Did you notice any issues showing up?

I'm guessing I've had Stephanie for about 6 months? Would have to look at the start of this thread to be sure. Other than the bottom of her feet being a bit messed up- my fault cause I wasn't careful enough moving her in the beginning, and the finger wire issues, no other damage to her skin so far.
Riza on the other hand has a wound on her left elbow, right knee and I believe the left side of her groin too, all very small but definitely noticeable. She doesn't see alot of regular use because her small size just don't do it for me as much as the other three ladies.

Dear diary;

Wow, it's been awhile, but as you can see, Stephanie is still healthy and happy.
My new GF is absolutely in love with her, and she encourages me to spend time with Stephanie and the other girls when we must be apart.
It's a nice thing when the ladies all get along- no need to hide anything, no awkwardness this way.

I must admit, after over a year, Stephanie's in remarkable good health still- of my four girls, she and Jewel are the most hearty. Obviously her good breeding, and the fantastic workmanship at Pipedream, contribute to her continued good health.

Comparing to Riza and Cammy who are both developing tons of health issues, Stephanie's constitution is simply amazing.+

No loosening of joints, no tearing of flesh, and that's after over a year of constant...use...

I'll be honest, at first I was really doubtful regarding the TPE quality of these fine ladies.
I owned a Fuck Me Silly III before and various smaller Pipedream masturbators, and most of them started to show tears and wears within months.
So it was a definite pleasant surprise to find out how robust these dolls are.
