New Doll, Progress????
Re: New Doll, Progress????
We’re molding.....
Anyone looking for a 4’11” doll?
I always have to look up centimeter equivalents.
437cm?

And 2 inches m = 5.08 CM which is basically 5CM.
So 151 CM

A five foot tall doll is dead weight and feels much harder to carry.

that's good to hear. What's your material design advantage to do that?toonist wrote:Luckily, we can cut the weight in half!

When we create a doll to be cast in silicone, we also create a second mold of her “ core”... to be cast in soft foam. The skeleton is encased in this foam. The lightweight foam takes the place of many pounds of silicone. It rests about 3/4 of an inch below the skin.
Tpe dolls , on the other hand, are poured very hot, which prohibits the use of foam for a core. It would simply melt.
Some factories are placing hollow fiberglass shapes inside their tpe dolls to reduce the weight, with some success.
Our 5’7” silicone doll weighs 75 lbs. many of the tpe dolls that size would weigh about 30 lbs more. The larger the doll, the more pronounced this difference becomes.
Weight is a big issue.
As is:
Softness
Price
Wait time
Pose-ability
Flexibility
Durability
Life-Like quality
Silicone or TPE
Customer service history
Properly placed and detailed private areas
The list goes on of what priorities folks have for choosing a doll.
I keep all these things in mind when designing a new doll.
Often it’s simply the look of the doll. Face, breasts, leg shape...
We guys are very visual oriented creatures.
Sadly, some choose a doll because she has a good price
and can end up being disappointed by the quality.
That can certainly happen with more expensive dolls as well.
Or they choose a doll for her appearance, but are not aware of her weight issues.
For some , a fifty lb doll seems heavy. For others, a 100 lb doll seems just the thing...
As you say, it’s good to know your priorities before purchasing.
Weight is one important issue indeed.

Agree. What weight do you expect for the new 4'11'' doll? Love those torpedo breasts!toonist wrote: For some , a fifty lb doll seems heavy. For others, a 100 lb doll seems just the thing...

I’m thinking a bit over 60 lbs...hopefully not too much over.
Maybe 65.
Our Girl Next Door is a couple inches shorter @ 60 lbs.
Torpedoes AWAY!!!!!

Love her belly too, tight and toned, I bet she'll look good in a off the shoulder crop top and a belly ring!
Looking forward to seeing the final product!
