So if you intend to scale down in the future I think you will please a lot of doll owners with dolls from around 3,61 inch and 4,59 inch

Thought it would be nice to see it in its completed form.
The palm plate and index finger are the Shapeways parts - I printed the other parts to complete it.
The thumb metacarpal joint was tweaked a little so it now angles down more naturally instead of being flat, which should make posing easier.

This is looking fantastic MannequinFan. Brilliant work.MannequinFan wrote:Alright, here's how things are looking with the printed phalanx version.

I'm really looking forward to being able to order these once you're happy the designs are good.
My Tiffany is desperate for her poor hands to be mended.
Presumably we'll be able to order through Shapeways at some point in the near future?

Re: We can rebuild her. New MF hand plates and wires.
The biggest issue is finding suitable wire to use for the fingers - we haven't found anything in the UK that would be ideal, so I am thinking of buying a reel of the stuff MF has used in his testing, but it works out to about £50 (Euro 57) for 50 feet (im guessing on total cost, as i'm not sure what the import costs will be)
I would think we could split this into 5 foot lengths - which would be 6" (15.24cm) per digit on 2 hands, which I would think would be more than enough!
Are there folks who would be interested in splitting a reel with me? There are 10 shares, and I would want 2 - so am looking for folks to take the other 8.

Re: We can rebuild her. New MF hand plates and wires.
As Adelea mentioned we're running into a problem here for those across the pond.
The problem is that hardware and wire standards are completely different from those in U.S.
For UK, it seems 6491X conduit cable in 1.5mm gauge is probably the closest thing we've found and it's available by the meter online.
I went ahead and ordered a 3' sample so I can test it out...
https://www.ebay.com/itm/6491X-Electric ... NsVTUm6OMA
The 6491X is the same O.D. as the Cerrowire (2.8mm) but has fewer strands (7) and less conductor area (1.5mm2) so it may not work as well or hold up as long as the Cerrowire which has 19 strands and 2.08mm2 conductor area. The next size up with the 6491X is 2.5mm2 but the O.D. is way too big.
For the hardware, Adelea did find a metric equivalent for the small screws...
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M2-9x6-5mm-3 ... GTR=1#shId
The M2.9 x 6.5 is the same as a #4 x 1/4" screw in the U.S.
For the eye bolt, he found this M6 one that I think will work...

@adelea, I'd help out with that....if you send ranger a pm (or pop into chat when he on) he might also be interested...I know he been following this thread. I have no use for it/them currently...but you never know...I probably will at some point so happy to contribute towards our uk side who will want them.

Hi Tsall,Tsall wrote:Can you please give us the exact specification of the wire you use in USA? And a link to a site where this can be bought?
Here's the spec sheet for the Cerrowire I use. You have to scroll down to see the 14GA stranded...
https://www.cerrowire.com/wp-content/up ... s_2014.pdf
You can get the stuff I used on Amazon, but it's 50 feet of wire. You only need 5 feet of wire for a set of hands. I still want to look at some other alternatives that are not so expensive and more locally available.
When we get this all sorted and ready to go I'll post links where to get everything.

I'm sure he could...if he had the time...and people were prepared to pay for said time...and extra shipping....ILuvFemsNlingerie wrote:Can't you just install all the pieces yourself fully assembled? So that way the customer just has to take out the old broken hands and replace with the new ones

This one?

A wire like this must be flexible. I thought the wire had to be rigid.
