Your welcome, though MF put in all the work. Anastasia is honored to be the guinea pig. It has worked out well. She got a pitching contract with the Twins and she now has some Irontech groupies all over her. Gee, you would think that she was Joe Mauer.NewFrontiers wrote:Hey guys, this is like the doll version of breaking the sound barrier, so I just want to raise a glass to MannequinFan for his design skills and persistence. Also thanks to Panther68 for trying this experimental modification on Anastasia. Solutions like this are one of the things that move this community forward, I believe. So many others also added helpful insights on this thread. You guys are amazing.

Hey Broven,Broven wrote:So, any updates on this? The world is anxiously awaiting!
The current plates that Anastasia have are holding up fine. As of now, MF will be sending me his newest prototype for one hand. This version will have plastic digits. When this arrives, I will take her current hand plate and wires out, so we can get a visual on wear and tear.
MF has been busy with the weekly demand for his eyes along with working on his other inventions. I am in no rush to seal her TPE, since we have had so much rain. I need to do the seal up outdoors for ventilation.

As is an excellent idea. I tried it once inside and am sure never to try that again. The fumes ......I am in no rush to seal her TPE, since we have had so much rain. I need to do the seal up outdoors for ventilation.
All the TPE work I will do when necessary will always be outdoors.

what timing, MF newest design just arrived, so I will update. Might even do it in the next couple of hours. As for the hand plate connection. No problems with my Irontech dolls yet. Some wrists a bit loose moving on the 168, but I obtained her as a flawed doll. My WM doll was sport wielded, so I just applied more torque on the allan and socket wrenches till the spot wield broke free. Did so on both wrists. Most other doll owners that do this will confirm that they encountered the same. Will be back soon to update the thread with photos.

Re: We can rebuild her. New MF hand plates and wires.
Anastasia has her wine and Ayumi is in the background to watch over. If I screw up, she will beat the crap out of me.
All the digits ready to go.
Let's dive in
The new hand plate
Hand plate with plastic digits
The old wires held up well with no crude.
Anastasia doing alittle self surgery.
Old plate to the left, new on the right
Plate installed
Time to screw down the finger wires.
The plastic digits does give a bit more grabbing ability
Maybe even a glass of wine
Overall, all went well. The larger plastic digits fit in the TPE finger with no issues. Maybe a bit more grabbing ability, but either the metal tubing or the plastic digits, both work equally as well, just a matter of which you prefer. There is no more squaring of the knuckles with either as the TPE tend to still give the fingers a rounded look when bent. In summary these hand plates and finger wires will last much longer than the factory plates as I have been bending them for the last two months with no excessive wear. If you have questions, ask away.

In this photo the open side of the joint should be facing up, not towards Anastasia (rotate 90 CCW).
The screw hole is on a different side for the thumb piece.
It should go in like this so the thumb bends towards the hand...

That's so she can hitch hike back from where she's been!MannequinFan wrote:Hey Panther looks pretty good, but I think you may have the thumb in wrong.

Yeah, after taking that photo, I noticed the holes for the screw was on a different side. So they are in correctly. Thanks.
Rubberkitty, such the comedian. Kinda reminds me of when I was a kid. I had the GI Joe doll with the Kung Fu grip hands.
Thanks Arthur. Anastasia loves her bionic hands. With a successful operation, Ayumi will let me live another day. Pressure was on, with her in the background, arms crossed, staring down.
