I also started with visits to VR porn industry via cardpaper+phone.
I thought, it is fantastic and extreme cheap idea. What for, the hell, a headset?
Until I met my friend and saw the VR world via HTC headset with full VR possibilities.
Next day I had my Oculus and realize, that phone is good just for making calls.
Of course, somebody can be sattisfied, but me not.

Although truthfully, high quality VR video content is somewhat limited to a few video's that you'll like, and a whole bunch you won't care for. Just like regular porn. The PiMax is pretty awesome though. 8K/eye is overkill for resolution, but being that close to the eye, perhaps not. The 200* FoV though? (I just nutted a little)...

I think I'm going to end up with a Vive Pro later this year though. I'd really like to ditch the cable and have the upgraded optics. The binocular effect isn't "that" annoying to me.. Hell, I'm old enough to remember when the red/blue analgryph 3d was new, exciting, and realistic... My main reasons for sticking with the Vive Pro, is that I'll still have my 2 original base stations. Add 2 more to that, (the pro can use up to 4.), plus the wireless, and I'll be able to turn my entire 24x20 garage into a dedicated VR room where I don't have to worry about tripping over stuff..

Fireball, What's so disappointing about the rift? The visuals or the fact that you're stuck at a desk?

TDFnoob, I am very familiar with piratebay. It's just not easy to find VR from there.
Pimax8k is actually 4k per eye, I bought a 5k, so it will be 2.5k per eye. It's high enough for me. The 200 degree FOV is the big reason I supported it. They are making slow progress now. Seems like I have to wait a few more months to get it.
Oh, also Pimax headset can use your base stations. So when the product is out, you just pay $300-400 for the thing.

I have found this interesting video comparsion of VR sets, which showes the display differences between some VR sets, incl. Pimax 4k.
Currently, I have Oculus (video+gaming) and for viewing vids I just ordered Pimax 4k at Gearbest.

I think, that Pimax must be much better for vids than Oculus. It is pure mathematics. Pimax has almost four times higher resolution than Oculus. Thats why must be Pimax image much smoother.

BTW: the FOV, while watching porn videos, is not so important. Your personal FOV is almost all the time less than about 30 degrees

Fireball, I know what you mean, but the wider FOV will give me a much more immersive experience, like I were actually there. The all-in-one I bought in CES give me just slightly larger FOV, like 100 degree or so, and it's quite better than using my android phone, even though my android can play videos much better.
So in all, probably a personal thing, but I like bigger FOV, and smaller boobs.

Me too , especially the second part! But some big are fnatastic also - look for Zenda Sexy at PB. There are just two VR vids Sadly, she did not make more.
