Here's a couple more stands from the MF workshop going out soon... :)

The rectangular base is a bit more stable and a little better for doing makeup work.
When laid on it's back for certain makeup work it will not roll like the oval base can.

The rectangular base measures 9-1/2" x 6-5/8" which gives maximum stability.

The oval looks nice, but the square design is more practical. Good job, MF!

It's good to see more stands being shipped out.
I'm actually using mine right now.

Alright, some improvements and something new for the new year!

ILuvFems mentioned to me that the magnetic adapter I made for his regular head stand was working quite well as a mini stand by itself.
So here you go, introducing the Quick Stand for the Indigo magnetic head connectors... :D

I'll be incorporating the cap design into the full head stand so upgrading to the magnetic version will be simply changing out the cap.
Thanks to Jeff with BCD for loaning me a head connector for testing purposes.
More information about the Indigo magnetic head connectors here: http://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=267&t=77781

Here's to a great new year for everyone at TDF!

Another update to start the new year... :D

I've been trying to get this down to simplest terms for upgrading to the Indigo magnetic connectors.
All that is needed now is to swap the insert in the cap instead of the whole cap.
The cap will be easily removable to change out the insert.
There could also be inserts made for different bolt sizes to fit different doll makes.

This shows the mini stand, but the full size stand has the same cap design...

WOW that is genius MF what a great job you did
It's good to see that the quick stands have a wider base. I was going to mention that when we first standed talking about all this.
I hope to get another quick stand in a few months when I get my 3rd head :)

Thanks ILFNL, I'll look forward to getting your comments.

The packaging for the new design took a bit of engineering...
I needed to use a slightly smaller box for first class international shipping. USPS won't let me use the Priority Mail box I usually use for domestic.
So with the neck cap disassembled, now it all fits in a Duck 8" x 11-3/4" x 4-3/4" tall box! :)
The heavy M16 bolt needed to be immobilized so it doesn't become a bullet when the gorillas play football with the package, lol.

You can immediately see why I need a head stand. One missing eyelash.

You might also discern the dirty marks, which I think is oil from the neck thread (not the bolt) inside the cloth bag. I have yet to figure out how to remove it.

The next frontier after that will be make up. Am accumulating basic make up but have no practical experience yet.

Hey thanks for the post Alistair!
Dang, I should have included some eyelash inserts for you. :)

Try baby oil or odorless mineral spirits on the marks - should come off easily if it's an oil stain.

Cheers!

Should've mentioned that the "leftover" pieces of plastic visible on the table are not in error, but that I am ready to roll with magnetic bolts when they become available.

No worries there either, for I did not lose the lash which fell off.

Will do, and thanks.

Just got my head stand from MF last week. Finally getting around to posting the photos.

I swapped out the regular threaded connector for the magnetic connector before taking the photos, but below are the photos of the stand and one with Arabella's head on it.

Hey DB thanks for posting! Arabella is a very pretty girl, even without her body! :D

Looks like you're getting ready for some serious makeup work.
Keep us posted on how it goes!
