I'm so impressed with y'all entering the photo contests regularly now! And I learn the coolest things in this thread! We don't have a Buddha to clean, but will do so vicariously through you.

Thanks Nutmeg, we are humbly honoured that you enjoy our thread. With growing season beginning we have a busy time ahead pulling out the weeds so we may have to tone down our photo contest entry; we'll see.

Bunny & Egg

At this time of the year supermarkets in the west are flooded by bunnies and eggs made of chocolate. Tom says, "I'm an outdoor person, the nature man and a bodybuilder; I'm not into chocolate egg but the real one." So Steve proudly shows Tom his article 'Green Easter' that he has written a few years ago. Not to be outdone, Tom demonstrates to Steve his own version of Green Easter.

Steve's Green Easter

Today is Easter Sunday, one of the holiest days in Christianity.
I imagine that I am in a church. Coming in from the hustle and bustle of outside world, I suddenly feel calm, serene and peaceful. I can feel love and goodwill around me and can smell compassion in the air. Walking down the straight aisle towards the altar, I look up at the majestic arches of the roof of the church at least a hundred years old. I can see sunlight shining through the stained glass windows like showers of colourful jewels. Looking around I see vases of beautiful flowers displayed by church devotees. Listening to the sweet music of church organ and choir hymns, my mind drift away to the enchanted world. I feel refreshed; like a new man. There are many families enjoying the wonderful atmosphere. Under the sanctuary of the church roof they have delightful refreshments including hot cross buns and holy water. Everyone including me is happy; loved and blessed by God.
Actually, in reality, I am in the woods at the back of my house. Coming in from the heat of an open field, I suddenly feel calm, serene and peaceful. I can feel the cool shade around me and can smell the energising oxygen, released by the trees, in the air. Walking along the meandering footpath, I look up at the majestic arches formed by the branches of tall trees at least a hundred years old. I can see sunlight shining through the leaves like showers of sparkling diamonds. Looking around I see carpets of bluebell flowers displayed by mother nature. Listening to the sweet music of singing birds and rustling leaves, my mind drift away to the enchanted world. I feel refreshed; like a new man. There are many families enjoying the wonderful atmosphere. Under the sanctuary of green canopies they have delightful picnics including sandwiches and fruit juices. Everyone including me is happy; loved and blessed by Nature.

That was wonderful, Steve and Tom! The pictures were adorable and the parallel story cool too! Easter is wonderfully holy and important. I'm so glad you had wonderful thoughts about it. You are wonderfully deep! Thank you for sharing.

We Get Better

Tom and myself have been living together as gay couple for some time. Nowadays many gay couples have a child or children through surrogacy or adoption. We had the same idea and decided to adopt a boy. Since I was from Southeast Asia I was keen to adopt a child from the same area. As the lover of all things oriental Tom agreed with my idea. So we adopted a Thai boy, son of a Siamese fighter.
Before he arrived we prepared his room with joy and excitement. When I went to collect him Tom and the rest at home could not wait. When he arrived we all welcomed him with warmth and affection. 'Baby' S6 Edge, the official photographer of our household, happily recorded that in pictures.
Tom and myself have been having a good life together. Hoping that our adopted son will make it better, we call him 'Better'. Since he arrived on the day of Myanmar Tha-gyan water festival he is also given Myanmar name of 'Pho Tha-gyan ( Mister Tha-gyan )'.
Like any young child Better is curious, unpredictable and has short attention span. I take care of his nutrition, hygiene and health. Tom, as the master of stillness and patience, keeps an eye on Better and babysits him most of the time. As the creative partner I make toys and props to keep Better entertained.
Tom and myself are already home bodies. With Better to look after at home we are likely to become home busies and home happies ( not hippies ).

Beautiful Colors on that Siamese fighting fish (Betta splendens). I am hoping that bowl is big enough for him? You do know that oxygen is transferred from the air to the water by disturbing surface (a little bubblier).

Thanks Ranger, for your advice as well. We will try to disturb water for more oxygen.

The bowl is the minimum size for him; we have to go for it because the space on our cluttered desk and dining table are at premium. Besides, we carry his playpen up and down the stairs wherever we go and at night he sleeps in our bedroom, all four of together - Tom, Steve, Baby S6 Edge and Better - very cosy. Better loves our company and attention and watches videos with us ! He also teaches us a lesson in being resourceful: He swims around in the bowl to make up for the small size and entertains himself all the time with every nook and cranny in his sanctuary and shadows and flickers in the surroundings. He now recognines his name call and from time to time exchange pouting-lip kisses with Steve.
