I'm also not sure of how many different wrist connections there are so that would need to be verified.
The prototype I made is for the 8mm bolt connection like in the CC video.
Her hands have already been opened up. One is actually still open, partially. But, to put my enthusiasm for this project in check, I have no idea if I'm capable of doing what needs to be done in order to actually try it out. So far, when she has needed repairs, I have taken her to Samara. I AM willing to take it on as a project, though I expect my progress would be slow.

To put that all in further perspective, I'm not sure I would be able to tell an 8mm bolt from a Lincoln town car.... though I assume the bolt would have even worse gas mileage... ;)

But, I do build models, and I think I have a mechanically inclined (though not trained) mind. So, yeah, I'm willing to give it a try. :)

Hey Grim, print them on your mini with full solid fill setting, .15mm layers.

OK Broven you'll be the guinea pig...er, I mean tester. :D

Since you have the hands opened it might be good to verify the wrist connection if you can.
Of course you'll need to eventually remove the existing wires and plate.
Take a look at this video and see if what you have looks similar...

Just took a quick look. Her hand isn't opened all the way to the wrist currently, so I'm having a little trouble seeing the connection point. The palm plate definitely looks the same as in CC's video, but I need to cut through the cloth wrapping to see her wrist clearly. I will get back to you tomorrow on that. It's getting close to bedtime, and I'd rather do any cutting when I'm feeling a little more alert.

I'm excited by the prospect though! :)

On another note, it was very sad/comforting to hear Crazy Cajuns voice... I've watched a few of his vids over my one year journey into dolls. I wish I had gotten to meet him...

Hey Broven, Anna Marie is exactly the same as MJ and Becka. James "CrazyCajun" made their plates. I can help you with Anna Marie. Between me and winterwarbro and MannequinnFan and samara you've got a hell of a team to help you on your hand job.

Yes, such a shame we lost this guy. :(
I talked to him a few times about eyelids, but I never got to meet him either.

Here's another video CC did that's a little more comprehensive.
It shows the whole process from initial incision to final install...
https://youtu.be/qvMBC3qEikc

Watching this, I'm not sure whether the original wires go all the way into the fingertips or not. That may be an issue to deal with.
Also not sure now whether it would be easier to insert the palm plate assembly with the first tubes in place (like the prototype photo) and just epoxy in the remaining finger wires, or do the whole 2 piece assembly in place like I was originally thinking. That's something that will need experimenting with when you actually get into it.

I'm wondering if I could just use a Makehuman hand model to get the length of the tube phalanges.
How far off could it be?

Later today I can use my calipers to give you some measurements of her actual hand if you want. Distance between the plate and each joint.

Hey Broven, what would be helpful if possible would be to get a photo like the one Dollyman did with a ruler or something of known dimension it it.
Graph paper is ideal for this. I can scale the image in Rhino to get sizes.
It would also be nice if you could mark the centerline of the wrist bolt somehow if possible.
Also, verify the diameter of the wrist bolt if you can.

I sent CC and image of MJ's hand on 1/4" graph paper to help him figure out sizing. That first set came out a little off. I still have the new set uninstalled. Broven's doll has the same body as MJ and Becka.

It won't help for finger length, but here's MJ's original plate, and the last plate I got from CC. Maybe it will be help full other ways.

Hey Grim thanks.
I used the pics you sent me a while back for the prototype so I think it's the same thing.
I patterned it after the one CC did.
The prototype is 3" long and 1-1/4" wide at the widest part.

I'll start with this. I don't have graph paper, but I have an old DnD battle grid. The squares are exactly 1". I hope that's close enough. Used a couple pieces of wood to mark where the wrist bolt connects to the palm plate. It's approximate but very close. Hopefully, that was what you had in mind.

Here's a look at the connection. I really don't know how to tell what size it is, and I'm not sure if this pic tells you anything.

Let me know if you need me to investigate further. And sorry you have to work with such an amateur as me. Good help is hard to find. ;)

Thanks that photo should work OK.
Looks like I may need to shorten the prototype some from all the info I'm seeing.
From Grim's photo it looks like the original is about 2-1/2" long.
I should be able to just shorten the wrist connection end some without affecting anything else.

Could you measure the nut on the wrist? An M8 is about 13mm (.51").

New hands for our gals would be an amazing next step. Hand poses convey a LOT more emotion than most people realize or give credit for. Check out my hand poses for Nadia in the Doll Sweet section under "the morning after" - makes a huge difference.
