Newb question about out of box cleaning

Post by Accursed Undead »

First experience buying a doll. I dint know you were suppose to wash your doll before using. Did I get dangerous chemicals in my mouth?

Welcome to TDF! Hopefully you purchased a good quality doll from one of the vendors here. If you did then there should be no concern about any TPE reactions. I always suggest waiting to do the first cleaning especially if you have a large doll. You have to keep in mind there is a bit of a learning curve when you first start to move your new lady around. Too many people damage their doll on the first day because they want to wash her right away; the damage is usually to the feet when standing her in the shower; with both standing foot and regular foot. I know you want to jump in and get into action but it's best to get used to moving her around before getting creative. I have a video that shows how to lift your new girl out of the box-

Take your time and get to know her and get to know how comfortable you are moving her around. I have other videos you might find helpful as a new doll owner. Keep us posted and good luck!

Hello Accursed Undead and welcome to the forum... :glou:

Generally, the dolls are washed and powdered from the factory so while it's not absolutely necessary as in "YOU SHALL DO THIS" it's recommended... Nothing will happen to you like you won't start growing a third arm if you skipped this step... :glou:

If people want WHATEVER powder is on the dolls off, that of course is UNDER her skin as well, then people MUST DO something.
And true...there are no absolutes...

Good idea to wash 1st. Factory muck, release agents and whatnot, but not the end of the world if you didn't.
