Molding Tpe

Post by NorthBase »

Has someone tried to melt down tpe and mold parts out of it? I want to try this on my doll to make her labia bigger.
Maybe use a clay for the mold?
Any suggestions on how to do it?

It may be better to soften and sculpt, rather than melt it. I've seen several dolls that were damaged by having molten TPE poured onto them.

The tpe would need to form and then cool down in the clay before i can take it out and glue it on my doll with a heatgun or tpe glue. I was thinking to glue it on while her legs are spread so i can narrow the big gaping hole to a more Natural look. Do you think this will work? Maybe a sculpt like this in clay or metal.

What do you think?

The pic you posted is a silicone mold.
Shape your desired mold from clay, then using a 2 part silicone mix make the mold you will use to form the TPE.
https://www.amazon.com/Smooth-Sil-Grade ... B00EOA25X2 (Just an example)

Clay molds work, but not as easy to remove your masterpiece :) As it would be removing from a silicone mold.

A lot of work.

May take less time to just melt new TPE to labia using a solder iron, making it beefier. Be best not to spread the legs open while doing this. You can have labia open some while working, just not a lot.

I've used a toaster oven set at 250F to melt/pour TPE, but have yet to master any decent molding out of it. It's not easy getting zero air bubbles without an air tight mixing system.
Have to pour slowly to lessen the air bubbles, but TPE does cool/solidify fairly quick on the outer surfaces. Should be alright for small items though.
All about trial and error

(Clay molds work, but not as easy to remove your masterpiece As it would be removing from a silicone mold.) So i can use a silicone mold to pour the melted tpe inside without it binding to the silicone?

Would love to see a video or a tutorial on how to do this.

I was thinking making a Piece or some Pieces like this just in tpe ofc.https://www.amazon.de/dNature-Vagina-Ma ... 8-133&th=1

And glue it/melt it together on the outside to make ithe pussy more puffy and meaty. I dont care so much about the color of the tpe i use as i can just use som oil pastels to color it afterwards.

If i use Smooth-Sil 940 i would need a vacumpump to right? Like this? https://www.amazon.com/Gallon-Aluminum- ... pons&psc=1

I think clay will be a lot cheeper for this project, but maybe like you say it will be hard to get it out after it has cooled, what type of clay is the best to use do you think, waterbased or oilbased?

Silicone will not melt. So is fairly safe bet it'll not stick. The clay I used worked, and it was just dollar store stuff :) But it did damage some by sticking too much. I watched tutorials on how to make doll eyes. It sort of gives ideas how to make molds.
The silicone is flexible so it can be removed, and used many times.

I am currently fusing new, stronger TPE to my doll. Just a basic 30 watt iron and melting small bits of light pink colored TPE
Takes time, but is easier than trying glues, etc.
I'm just rebuilding damage that once was. Going for the original look, but can make it thicker.

The pink stuff I'd made from SEBS TPE and colored it to my liking. It's a firm blend of TPE
I snip small bits of it and gently melt it on there.
Takes a steady hand, small tips and patience. But can be done.

Not bad!

How much did you have to pay for the tpe?
I just ordered a regular insert tpe as it cost just as much as a sample and i get more tpe for the price. I also ordered a soldering iron, heatgun, and some sculpting tools. will ahve to wait to buy the rest as im a little low on money right now.

Wish i could just use one of these look great and realistic just have to make a hole in it and glue it on https://www.dollpark.com/boogina/pussyprint/

I know its silicone but i asked the manufacturer if he can make one in tpe for me.
Do you know what would happen if use silicone? Will it damage the tpe or will the tpe damage the silicone? Read somewhere on here that its not a big of a problem like People think it is.
Either way i could you one of these to make a clay mold and stamp it in the silicone mold later.

Hopefully the insert TPE is not much softer then your doll. Reason I say, it may not be any more durable than original.
I did snip TPE from the top of her neck so I'd be melting the same for the repair. But I am adding the other blend to make it a bit bigger.
I bought raw TPE pellets, 6 pounds for 100 bucks. Has to be colored, which is not hard. (Blush powdered makeup) add to pellets stir powder in good and then melt.
Color does not bleed. As long as too much powder isn't added. Mineral oil/Mica/Titanium dioxide based makeups do become part of the polymer.

The tearing on the lower part of your doll seems normal for a lot of dolls. Pastes and glues are not the best answer for vaginal repairs. Esp. for inner thighs at the joints. Solvent based glues/fillers can be tricky, and can make things worse. As posts from the past on here will show :)

You are on the right path, buying some basic heat tools. As times goes by they ought to come in handy, as your experience improves.

Using heat for the first time, always start at the lowest temperatures 100C and work your way up to find the sweet temps for the material you are working with. Nice melt flow, and very little smoke is the goal.

I am still learning always.

I Have a video where I made the exact same thing out of a spare piece and a soldering iron. It's on my YouTube channel. I'm at work right now so I don't have the link but you can search here about a long TPE repair thread.
