Wig Hair Cut?

Post by ColColt »

I posted this on another part of the forum but this seemed appropriate for here as well. My #122 WM head has an ear separation problem I mentioned. Apparently the wig, several strands to hair of something caused the left ear to separate from her head. I've opted for some of the adhesive sold by Indigo and plan on giving that a try.

Question is how long once both sides are brushed on should I hold the ear to the head before letting it go on it's own? This is what the ear currently looks like.

I did mention that yes, but; I don't know if that's the best route. I had given it lot of thought till I found out about Indigo's adhesive which looks stronger in the videos.

It looks like if you can just bond the ear back into the head there won't be any real noticeable scarring, so thats good.

Yep-fortunately it's going to be out of the way anyhow. I'm still perplexed how I did it as to not do it again.

Since you have the glue inbound, use that. I had the exact same cut and the glue worked 100%
Glue then hold for 30 sec, slowly release and keep an eye on it for a while. Then let cure 24 hours..

I suppose any decent adhesive would work on something as thin/light as an ear...who knows, maybe even Elmers. Guess I need to watch how I put a wig on/off from now on. I wish they were more adjustable without bunching up at the top and sides. They should make them like small/medium/normal.

One size does NOT fit all.

Just a novice making an assumption, I don't think Elmers glue is gonna be strong enough. Id go with straight up Super Glue.

You can glue things to TPE with Elmer's like merkins and such, but it won't hold TPE together. At least not very long. Wigs do come in sizes BTW. The better ones anyway.

It seems the ones I wanted didn't or if they did, they were on back order.
