Would Cold Weld work to make sleeping eyes?

Post by Agalmatoreveur »

I was thinking it would be worth buying an extra of the same head if Indigo's Cold Weld glue worked fast enough, and was effective enough, to seal the eyes closed.

That to me would be preferable to replacing the eyeballs with eyelids every time.

The same goes for the mouth - If the Cold Weld was able to reliably seal the mouth, it could be worth having a head made without teeth, and just closing the lips.

You can seal the mouth.

It needs:
2x 80cm velcro "back to back"
1x plastic ruler
1x long and wide paint brush (for applying the cold-welding adhesive)

Put the velcro over the head (crossed) and the plastic ruler beneath the chin.
Therewith you are causing pressure from below and the mouth is closed.

Open the closed mouth and apply the adhesive with the brush.

The mouth is closing by itself and the welding takes place.
Curing time 8 hours.

The eyes can not be welded to have it closed.
1. The doll head has no eyelid that can be pushed down.
2. With empty eye holes it looks really strange.

I recommend MannequinFan's eyelids that can be attached.
