Foam padding - reaction with TPE or Silicone Dolls?

Post by BuilderOfCastles »

For lining a box, or flight case to protect your doll:

Are there any foams that react badly to, or stick to TPE or Silicone Dolls?

Polyurethane foams or Memory Foam (like mattress toppers) i have heard many people using, but i do not know if those people put a blanket/piece of cloth in between.

Polyethylene foams probably don't react with anything, but they are not as squishy or supportive.

Does anyone have knowledge of interactions between foams and dolls?

I would always put a barrier between myself. I would not risk long term exposure of any polystyrene type material with TPE (silicone is much less chemically unstable and resilient a materiel).

Will stain if color is other than white for most of the synthetic cloth. Even colored cotton can stain TPE. Never lay or place your dolls skin directly on other petroleum based furniture is the best policy safety wise. A sheet or blanket is much cheaper than your doll.
