Wig care

Post by BopTop »

I was wondering if it's normal if several strands of hair come off into the brush while I'm combing out the wig? I'm using plastic wire brush to comb out the tangles, and a bristle brush to shine 'er up.

At the recommendation of the ever helpful Mr. Gasket, I will be investing in wide toothed combs, de-tangling spray, and a shorter wig so Kat can sleep with me tangle free. :D

The dolls look very sexy with long hair but you end up tangled in it when you sleep or play with her. I've been using a very short wig on my dolls for sleeping and play to stay tangle free. Save the long wig for photos or just looking great.

Thanks, Bill - yup, that's the plan.

Also, is it normal for hair to come out when I comb it? Or does that mean I'm brushing it too hard?

Well, a short wig might be a problem for me when I can finally buy my TB (still waiting for my money), since long hair is my main fetish... I have very long hair myself, and I always have to brush out some tangles every morning ;-)

It is normal for some hair to come out but take it slow if tangled and hold the hair at the cap while passing through the tangle to prevent the hair from being pulled out.
I use a product called "Wig Luster" in a spray can that makes the hair slick and easy for the brush to pass. Most wig shops have it.

wig care

I brushed Monica's hair for the first time since I got her in July. She is A "TB Tina" with long brown hair wig. I have always been careful about trying to not twist her around to keep her hair straight and knot-free as possible.I normally kept her hair in A ponytail per Teddy Babes instructions, sometimes her ponytail would come undun. It took me aproximately 20-30 minutes of brushing with A vent brush today, starting at the bottom and working towards the head.(Thanks to Ricardo, I rememberd to do that technique) I am happy with the results. I have to keep up with this maintenance if I want to keep her original wig in shape. I have not washed the wig yet, so I have no idea what trouble that will be, still working on brushing practice. 51"

I dont know if all human hair wigs are tangle free but my wigs are.

I use a "VERY wide toothed comb" or my fingers !! and a spray for detangle.
The fingers have fat on skin and it is good at least for a human wig.
If possible I use only my fingers and no comb.

Long synthetic hair, I make tails. This make less tangle.

Also many wigs come with a net that can be used for less tangle.

It is in the bed a good wig really is important. A human hair wig.

Use the synthetic one for photos instead.

I use a spray for detangle childrens hair. It can be very difficult to comb children with bubble gum in the hair and this spray, pump spray, is very good both for children and for wigs.
